摘要： A swim-in-place pool has an inlet opening to the swimming area, which is comparable in width and height to the space that would be occupied by a swimmer's body. Water is driven through the inlet opening at a velocity which is substantially constant throughout the cross-sectional area of the opening.The illustrated apparatus includes a housing providing an annular cavity within which a circular water advancing means is revolvably disposed. The swimming space lies essentially along a diameter of the annular cavity. The inlet opening is provided at one end of the swimming space for receiving water from the annular cavity, and an outlet opening is provided at the other end to return water to the annular cavity.

摘要： A portable spa in which a confining outer wall rests on the ground or other flat surface. A water impervious liner is suspended from the top of the wall and forms a barrier for holding water. The liner is formed with a double-wall construction with an inner sheet attached around the margins to the outer sheet to form a confined space. A pump for recirculating water through the pool has its outlet connected through a conduit to the confined space so that water is forced into the confined space under pressure. A portion of the inner sheet is shaped to form a raised seat on the bottom of the pool when inflated, while another portion of the inner sheet extends above the seat to form a back rest when inflated. The pump directs water through a series of jets through the sides of the pool to provide a massaging action.

Jet water outlets are directed inwardly from one wall of the swimming pool area, whereby a user can swim in a substantially stationary horizontal position against the force of the water jets. The therapy pool has seats, with additional jets directed inwardly toward the seats. A vertically directed divider is removably mounted between the swimming pool area and therapy pool area, to close off the therapy pool area for separate heating.

摘要： An improved swim spa is described which has a tank having a head end and a foot end filled with water. A forward current is created by pumping equipment which directs the forward current from a head end of the tank, past a swimmer in the water to a foot end of the tank. The pumping equipment may be attached to a removable wall insert to which may be removed to allow easy repair and maintenance. The forward current allows the swimmer to swim in place. The width of the forward current is chosen to be at least twice its depth. A diverter at the foot end of the tank has a curved surface for redirecting the forward current toward the sidewalls and then back toward the head wall in a horizontal plane and downward and back toward the head wall in a vertical plane.

The circulation subsystem is configured for creating a water jet matching a cross-section of a swimmer.
