In one implementation, an entertainment system includes: a game console; a display device connected to said game console; and a video game application program; wherein when said game console executes said video game application program, said game console causes said display device to display an information gauge; wherein said information gauge includes: an action bar having a start end and a goal end, and a plurality of character icons presented at respective points on the action bar, each character icon representing a respective character in the video game; wherein said character icons move along said action bar over time in the direction from said start end to said goal end; and wherein when a character icon reaches said goal end, the character corresponding to that character icon has an opportunity to perform an action in the video game.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus for rendering plural channels on a common display are provided. In a method embodiment, a method for allowing sharing of a display by a plurality of users wishing to view a plurality of respective images includes displaying the plurality of respective images sequentially on the display. The method further includes selectively allowing the respective image to be viewed by the respective user, but not by any other of the plurality of users.

    摘要: Instead of using an operation inputted by a player, a series of operation data for continuously moving a player character for a predetermined time period of a game is previously stored as automatic operation data. Automatic control means moves the player character based on the automatic operation data. Furthermore, the automatic control means receives a play start operation indicating that the player starts to play the game while the automatic control means moves the player character. A movement of the player character control led based on the automatic operation data is finished at a time when the play start operation is received, and the movement of the player character starts to be controlled based on an operation of the player.

    摘要: The game system includes a plurality of game machines and at least one server device connected thereto over a network to enable players of the plurality of game machines to play a two-person game, in which the server device includes: an acquiring means for, among a predetermined number of character cards each associating a game character with an ability value indicating an ability in fighting motion, acquiring use information on the type of a character card presently used in a two-person game for each game; a conversion-value calculating means for calculating a conversion value as result data for narrowing the difference of the ability values corresponding to the types of character cards according to the type of the character card depending upon the amount of the acquired use information; and a transmitting means for associating the conversion value according to the type of the character card with each character card and transmitting the conversion value to each game machine, and the plurality of game machines each include: a display displaying the image of a game character appearing in a two-person game; an operating member receiving an instruction for a virtual fighting motion played by the game character in the two-person game; a reading means for reading at least the type of each character card used in a game; an ability-value calculating means for converting the ability value corresponding to each read character card into a new ability value using the conversion value corresponding to a character card presently used; and a controlling means for allowing a game character to play a fighting motion given by an instruction from the operating member using the ability value obtained by the conversion.
