Abstract:
A fan for use in a wet type air cleaner serves to suction indoor air through an air suction inlet while spraying wash water toward the indoor air, thus allowing dusts or harmful substances in the air to be adsorbed by the wash water. The fan includes a main body disposed in an air circulation passage of the air cleaner and being rotated by a motor, a plurality of blades, installed on an outer peripheral surface of the fan main body, for generating a suctioning force for the intake of air, and a spray unit for dispersing wash water in a circumferential direction of the fan main body, thus allowing the wash water to contact the air and adsorb harmful substances from the air.
Abstract:
A distribution plate for particulate material comprises a circular horizontal plate comprised of nylon. Spaced radial slots are cut in the plate and extend completely therethrough. A substantially rectangular fin is placed in each slot and is radially positioned in the slot for slidable movement to interconnect with interlocking surfaces between the slot and the bottom edge of the fin. The slots extend from an inner position to an outer radial position short of the outer periphery of the plate.
Abstract:
An apparatus for fabricating bichromal elements comprising a separator member having a central rotating point, the separator member having first and second spaced apart, opposed surfaces with an edge region in contact with both of said opposed surfaces. The spacing between the opposed surfaces varies with the distance outwardly from the central rotating point such that the spacing is the largest at the central rotating point and the spacing decreases outwards from the central rotating point and the spacing is a minimum at the edge region. Further each of the opposed surfaces has a substantially annular cup spaced apart from and substantially surrounding the central rotating point. The apparatus for fabricating bichromal elements also includes apparatus for dispensing first and second differently colored hardenable liquids in the cups of the first and second surfaces, respectively, and an apparatus for substantially uniformly spreading the liquid material in the annular cups located in the first and second surfaces and for substantially uniformly spreading the liquid material from the cups over the first and second surfaces toward said edge region to form a reservoir of liquid material outboard of said edge region, and for forming ligaments from said reservoir.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for applying coatings to a portion of the internal bore or threads of a fastener or similar article having an opening on at least one end is provided. A 360° coating with material is provided using centrifugal force to assist in direction the material to a desired surface, which does not require use of a pressurized air stream in order to propell the coating material toward the walls of the article desired to be coated.

Abstract:
A new material applying device for applying material to the inner surface of a confined area. The inventive device includes a spinning plate with a plurality of radial fins that extend radially outward from the spinning plate center. The spinning plate is coupled to a lower end of an elongate spinning shaft. An upper end of the spinning shaft is rotatably mounted to a mounting carriage to permit rotation of the spinning shaft about its longitudinal axis. A motor rotates the spinning shaft about its longitudinal axis. A handle extends from the upper end of the mounting carriage for suspending the material applying device. A top plate is coupled to the mounting carriage and is positioned between a lower end of the mounting carriage and the spinning plate, adjacent the radial fins. An elongate feed tube with a hollow interior is coupled to the mounting carriage. An open bottom end of the feed tube extends through a feed opening in the top plate and faces the upper surface of the spinning plate. An open top end of the feed tube connects to a reservoir of material.
Abstract:
An atomizer wheel for use in a spray drying apparatus comprises an interior annular liquid supply chamber, from which a number of substantially radial ejection ducts extends towards the external surface of the wheel through a length constituting a considerable portion of the radius of the wheel. The ducts discharge into a downwardly open annular discharge slit at a comparatively short distance from an external wall connected with a wheel cover and whose inner wall surface forms an axial-symmetrical surface of revolution with a substantially linear generatrix forming an angle of not more than 15.degree. with the axis of revolution. The comparatively steep slit wall ensures together with the large length of the ejection ducts that the liquid is atomized at the outlet of the discharge slit with a considerable downwardly directed axial velocity component so that the spray characteristics resembles those of nozzle atomization but with preservation of the general advantages with respect to flexibility and reliability of operation associated with wheel atomization.
Abstract:
Spraying of liquid or a suspension is performed under the action of a centrifugal disc which is rotatable about an axis of rotation and has an oblique outer annular skirt which generates a spray cone of small droplets, and during the rotation of the centrifugal disc a gas stream is formed in the spray cone and directed from inside the spray cone axially toward the centrifugal disc so as to form a centripetal gas flow extending in a direction transverse to the axis of rotation and reducing the diameter of the spray cone.
Abstract:
A gas-liquid contacting device is disclosed which comprises a frame, a driving means mounted to the frame, a vertical rotating shaft rotatably mounted to the frame and adapted to be driven by the driving means, and a rotor secured to the lower end of the vertical rotating shaft, the rotor being substantially a hollow body of rotation e.g. a hollow inverted cone with a center line coaxial to the axis of the rotating shaft. The rotor is adapted to be immersed partly or entirely into the liquid to be mixed with a gas, e.g. air.
Abstract:
A coating apparatus for coating the interior surface of a relatively long, narrow pipe without any portion of the apparatus contacting the interior of the pipe has been provided, and comprises a mobile vehicle carrying a traveling boom on which is mounted a coating or spraying device for coating the pipe, an adjustment mechanism for moving the boom relative to the vehicle and to align the boom with the pipe, and a driving and supporting mechanism for the boom which drives and also supports the boom as it moves into and out of the relatively long, narrow pipe. In addition, several alternative embodiments of spraying devices for the coating apparatus are disclosed which eliminate or reduce "ghosting" or "shading" problems frequently experienced in coating such pipe.
