摘要： A can body spraying machine comprises a can body spinning device, a spray gun for spraying a coating onto an interior of a can body mounted on the can body spinning device and a controller configured to cause the spray gun to switch when the can body spinning device is in a correct spraying position. A sensor coupled to the can body spinning device determines when the can body spinning device has undergone a predefined rotation following commencement of spraying and, in response to such determination, causes the spray gun to be switched off.

Local pressure regulation of the coating material in the spray gun is provided along with optional control of the material temperature. Local pressure regulation allows for optional spray weight control based on a wrap number derived from speed and gun spray durations. A CAN to CAN network buffer is provided as well for primary network isolation. A gun control circuit may be used to select specific gun drive signals and to adjust gun drive signals based on real-time feedback of the actual spray duration.

摘要： An apparatus for providing a barrier coating on a portion of discrete objects such as fasteners utilizing a liquid coating material is provided. The present invention introduces either a plurality of loose or interconnected parts onto a magnetized conveyor system and optically senses when parts are present. When parts are sensed, the sensor triggers a discrete shot of liquid coating material such as a fluorocarbon to be deposited onto a predetermined portion of each part. These parts can then be transferred to a second magnetized conveyor system that supports an opposite surface of the parts than the first conveyor. The invention can also remove excess coating material and also be provided with dryers or heaters to fix the coating material to the parts if necessary.

The specialty article is positioned in a preselected orientation at a loading station, and is then engaged by a carriage assembly and moved from the loading station to a heating station, and then to a spray and discharge station. During movement between stations, the article is maintained in the preselected orientation to allow proper heating and spraying of the tapped holes.

摘要： A powder spray apparatus for coating threaded fasteners capable of operating at an optimum spray condition. Air supply and powder supply tubes communicate within an air/powder entrainment block. The jet diameter of the air supply tube is sized to provide an optimum spray condition at which a constant supply of powder is provided through a powder spray tube at an optimum powder density and velocity. These powder density and velocity conditions maximize the powder build rate on the threads of the fastener, and also increase production rates. The resulting coated fasteners exhibit a low torque scatter, and a highly uniform patch. A method for operating a powder spray apparatus at the optimum spray condition also forms part of the present invention.
