Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process and to a system for eliminating the expandability of steel-plant slag, which comprises a primary crusher (3) to reduce the fragments according to their granulometry; a magnetic separator (4) to remove metallic fragments bigger than a determined granulometry (5); a rotary dryer (6) to dry slag free from bigger metallic fragments; an impact mill (11) to disaggregate and fragment slag particles that are bigger than a predetermined granulometry; a classifier (12) for aero-classification and drag of fine and superfine particles; a cooler (17) for cooling slag particles bigger than a predetermined granulometry by means of heat exchange and removal of the fine and superfine particles that were not collected by the impact mill (11); a vibrating sieve (21) provided with two or more decks (23, 24, and 25) with screens of predetermined sizes; low-intensity magnetic separators (26, 27 and 28), with generation of non-magnetic slag fractions free from metallic iron and from iron monoxide, and of magnetic fractions composed by metallic iron and iron monoxide; and low-intensity magnetic separators (35, 36 and 37) to reprocess the magnetic fractions with generation of concentrate with high metallic iron contents and a product with high concentration of iron monoxide.
Abstract:
Vibratory material classifiers are disclosed. Some embodiments include eccentric shaft assemblies having removable eccentric weights. Some embodiments include oil access and indicator conduit extending from the interior to the exterior of a classifier.
Abstract:
A cutter that is used for dividing a processed product using ultrasound energy. The cutter includes a blade that has least one blade wing, the blade wing narrows at a front side towards a cutting edge, and that is adjoined at a rear side by a blade back. The blade back has a first side surface and a second side surface opposing one another. A mounting surface is provided on the first side surface of the blade back, and on the mounting surface a first end piece of at least one curved, coupling element is welded, and a second end piece of the mounting surface has a connecting member that is connected to an energy converter that supplies ultrasound energy to the blade.
Abstract:
An apparatus and methods for sorting and determining the length distribution of fibers in a sample are disclosed. One method of sorting and determining the length distribution of fibers includes immersing the fibers in a liquid to form a mixture; placing the mixture into a stack of sieves; progressively applying a predetermined number of frequencies of sound energy to each sieve in the stack of sieves; draining the mixture from the stack of sieves; and quantifying the collected fibers in each sieve in the stack of sieves.
Abstract:
A screen including a plurality of decks vertically stacked above one another, at least one of the decks bearing at least one sieve, the screen including means for vertically separating the decks from one another, suitable for selectively adjusting a vertical distance between each deck of the plurality of decks and at least one other deck of the plurality of decks.
Abstract:
A system for separating components from a slurry of drilling fluid and drill cuttings on a shaker screen having an upper side and a lower side within a shaker. The system also has a pressure differential generator to pull an effective volume of air through a section of the shaker screen to enhance the flow of drilling fluid through the section of the shaker screen and the separation of drilling fluid from drill cuttings and further maintain an effective flow of drill cuttings off the shaker. A method of separating components of a slurry of drilling fluids and solids has the steps of delivering the slurry to a shaker, flowing the slurry over a first screen and applying an effective amount of vacuum to a first portion of the first screen to remove the drilling fluids from the slurry without stalling the solids on the first screen.
Abstract:
A vibratory apparatus includes a first sidewall, a second sidewall and at least one pair of mated interior walls, the first sidewall, the second sidewall and the at least one pair of mated interior walls depending longitudinally between an inlet end and an outlet end. The at least one pair of mated interior walls is disposed laterally between the first and second sidewalls. At least one deck depends between the first and second sidewalls, and is divided into longitudinally depending sections by the at least one pair of mated interior walls. The apparatus also includes an exciter coupled to the at least one deck.
Abstract:
An example nonlimiting embodiment of the present invention provides a flow divider that includes a slurry receiving compartment and a discharge arrangement having a plurality of discharge apertures. The slurry receiving compartment is arranged to relatively uniformly flow a portion of a slurry into each of the discharge apertures. The discharge apertures may be arranged linearly and/or horizontally such that the portions of the slurry exits each of the discharge apertures at a relatively even flow rate and feed feed boxes connected to vertically tiered screening surfaces of a screening machine.
Abstract:
The cutter, which serves for dividing, such as cutting or atomising, a processed product using ultrasound energy, includes a blade that includes at least one blade wing which narrows at the front side towards a cutting edge and that is connected at the rear side to a blade back, which includes larger side surfaces opposing one another and smaller front surfaces at the exposed ends. According to the invention a mounting surface is provided on the blade back or an extremity formed thereon, on which mounting surface a first end piece of at least one curved, preferably U-shaped, coupling element is welded, whose second end piece exhibits a connecting member, preferably a threaded bore, that is connectable to an energy converter, which serves for supplying ultrasound energy.
