Abstract: An object-sorting apparatus includes a housing that extends from a top end to a bottom end, at least one vibration element, and a plurality of stages arranged in a vertical sequence in the housing between the top end and the bottom end. At least one of the stages includes a sorting base that at least partially defines a floor of the at least one stage. The sorting base is coupled to the at least one vibration element, and is configured to receive thereon a mixture of objects having different sizes, including a target size associated with the at least one stage. The stage also includes apertures defined in and extending through the sorting base and into flow communication with a next lower stage. The apertures are sized to receive therethrough, from the mixture, objects having a size smaller than the target size associated with the at least one stage.

Abstract: An apparatus for washing and grading sand and aggregate includes a first multi-deck screen and a sump for collecting undersize material from the plurality of decks. A first set of hydrocyclones receives undersize material and water from the sump of the first screen. A second screen has a deck for producing at least one sand product and a sump beneath the deck, the deck of the second screen receiving an underflow from each cyclone of the first set of hydrocyclones. A second set of hydrocyclones receives undersize material and water from the sump of the second vibratory screen. The deck of a third screen receives an underflow from each cyclone of the second set of hydrocyclones. A further hydrocyclone receives undersize material and water from the sump of the third screen, and an underflow from the further hydrocyclone is delivered onto the deck of the third screen.

Abstract: A vibrating screen feed conveying apparatus for conveying and separating sticky “moisture laden bulk solids” which are sticky and wet flowing onto a vibrating screening feeder and into a hopper. The apparatus includes a bed on which material is conveyed, a longitudinal counterbalance supported on a plurality of isolation springs, a plurality of inclined drive springs extending between the bed and the longitudinal counterbalance, and a plurality of stabilizers for controlling movement of the drive springs along their central axes. A plurality of vibratory motors, each having rotatable eccentric weights are attached to the rear end of the longitudinal counterbalance. The eccentric weights rotate in phase with one another to vibrate the bed at a vibration frequency.

Abstract: A method for the classification of superabsorber particles is disclosed, in which the superabsorber particles are put onto a top screen deck of a screening machine having at least two screen decks with a different hole size, the superabsorber particles which are smaller than the holes of the respective screen deck respectively falling through the holes and the superabsorber particles remaining on the screen deck being removed via an extraction point. Balls are positioned on each perforated plate, which balls are propelled upward by the movement of the perforated plate and strike from below the screen deck respectively lying above, wherein the balls have a stiffness in the range from 40 to 100 N/mm and a damping in the range from 1 to 4%. A machine for carrying out the method also is disclosed.
