An apparatus for loading and unloading a roll includes a roll support portion disposed adjacent to a roll unwinder; a first traveling rail disposed on one side of the roll unwinder; a moving frame movably installed on the first traveling rail; and a roll attaching and detaching unit movably installed on the moving frame, wherein the roll support portion includes a lifting unit configured to move up and down a disposed roll, and wherein the roll attaching and detaching unit includes a moving plate moving on the moving frame, and a main body portion rotatably installed on the moving plate.

The present invention relates to a roll shuttle and a suspended roll shuttle, which are each displaceable and equipped with a load mandrel (22) for transporting at least one roll to be stored. In the case of the roll shuttle, the load mandrel (22) is pivotably fastened to the running slide (16) in a plane that is substantially parallel to the storage plane of a shelf system. The suspended roll shuttle (42) can be moved along a sliding rail (40). The present invention also relates to a shelf system and a suspended rail system including distributing stations as well as to a method for operating the shelf system according to the invention.

A conveying system and method for rotating conveyed product. The system can have a conveyor on which is conveyed a rolled product in a machine direction. The system can have conveyor having a first portion on which is conveyed a rolled product having an axis oriented in the machine direction, and the rolled product being partially wrapped in an open ended tube of polymer film. The system has a second portion on which the rolled product is rotated in a horizontal plane such that its axis is oriented in a cross machine direction, and a third portion on which the rolled product is conveyed while oriented in the cross machine direction to a sealing operation that seals the open ends of the tube of polymer film.

The invention relates to a device (1) in conveying equipment for moving metal strips wound to form coils (2), in particular produced from high-strength or ultra-high-strength steel grades, wherein for transport the coils (2) can be lifted and lowered from a resting position on a coil support (3) by means of a vertically adjustable coil lifting device (4), wherein the coil support (3) has two coil support elements (3a, 3b) which are laterally spaced apart from one another and the coil lifting device (4) has two support prongs (4a, 4b), characterized in that at least the coil support elements (3a, 3b) are disposed asymmetrically with respect to the vertical (5) through the center of rotation (2a) of the coil (2).

A device (1) and a method for holding together and transporting a metal band rolled into a coil (3) after the band is rolled in a coiling station (5). The device (1) includes a removal trolley (20) for receiving the coil (3) in the coiling station (5) and for transporting the coil (3) from the coiling station (5). A coil safety device places a securing sling (40) around the coil (3) fixed on at least part of the circumference, such that the coil (3) is held together by the securing sling (40) and is pressed onto the removal trolley (20).

An apparatus for transporting springs comprises a transport device configured to receive a spring and a retaining mechanism configured to retain the spring received by the transport device. The retaining mechanism has at least one retaining member which comprises a magnetic material and which is mounted to be displaceable relative to the transport device. The apparatus comprises a release mechanism configured to release the spring received by the transport device. The release mechanism is configured to cause a relative displacement between the transport device and the at least one retaining member. The invention also relates to a method of transporting springs.

The method comprises providing a V-shaped conveying mechanism and positioning a plurality of the products on the V-shaped conveying mechanism such that a first portion of the plurality of the products engages a first side of the V-shaped conveying mechanism, and such that a second portion of the plurality of the products engages a second side of the V-shaped conveying mechanism.

In one embodiment, a system for removing a plastic wrap from a cylindrical module includes a conveyor transporting the cylindrical module toward a disperser with the cylindrical axis of the module parallel to the direction of conveyor movement. In another embodiment, the disperser is a travelling head disperser thereby providing relative movement between the modules and the disperser. The direction of the wrap around the module is determined and the cover is removed during rotation of the module, either by unwrapping the plastic or by slitting the plastic and then rotating the module. The equipment used to handle a cylindrical module is moved out of the path of movement of a conventional rectangular module so an installation can handle both rectangular and wrapped cylindrical modules.

A method of transferring items comprises feeding items toward a carrier mechanism from one or more input streams and engaging void areas in the items with one or more rods extending from the carrier mechanism. The method further comprises manipulating the carrier mechanism relative to the one or more input streams into a position substantially aligned with one or more output streams and feeding the items to the one or more output streams. The configuration of items in each input stream is different than the configuration of items in each output stream.
