Abstract:
An accumulator has a control system for controlling motion of a plurality of buckets on a continuous loop and logs traversing on a log transfer device. The log transfer device delivers a log from an entrance of the log transfer device to a bucket infeed on the accumulator. The bucket infeed receives a log from the log transfer device and allows a bucket to receive the log from the log transfer device. A time for the log to move from the entrance of the log transfer device to the bucket infeed is determined. Based on the time for the log to move from the entrance of the log transfer device to the bucket infeed, the control system controls the accumulator drive to move the continuous loop such that a bucket in the plurality of buckets is positioned at the bucket infeed with sufficient time to allow the bucket to receive the log from the log transfer device.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the treatment of articles such as rolls made of paper material, and/or packets, packs, envelopes, bags, pallets or boxes, or another type of packaging. The apparatus includes a feeding device for feeding the articles, at least one unit for treating the articles, a transferring device for transferring the articles from the feeding device to the treatment unit, and an arranging device able to arrange the articles in respective groups of articles, each group including one or more articles arranged according to a respective and desired configuration of utilization by the treatment unit. In the apparatus, the arranging device is defined by the transferring device.
Abstract:
Intelligent storage trays each hold SMT (Surface Mount Technology) reels of varying width without the need for separating dividers between the reels. An arrangement of light pipes within the tray pivot so that either one or multiple light pipes are pushed back to a closed position when an SMT reel is placed in the tray. Sensors detect movement of the light pipes allowing software to automatically assign a single SMT reel storage location to all of the light pipes that were moved by the SMT reel placement. Beacons on the tray indicate actions needed to take place and compression contacts on the tray communicate with the storage system software when the tray is placed and removed from a holder, such as a cart. Spring pins lock the tray into place within the holder allowing for ease of placement and removal.
Abstract:
A system for packaging groups of paper rolls, including a cutting-off machine that cuts paper logs, each group including rolls obtained from a same log. The system includes: a first unit for arranging the individual rolls spaced apart from each other; a second unit forming the groups by grouping a predetermined number of rolls, the second unit being provided with blades adapted to push from the back the last roll of each group to be formed and each formed group as the individual groups are formed by exerting a pushing action on the rear base of said last roll while the front base and a lateral surface of each roll are free; a third unit located downstream of the second unit and adapted to convey the groups towards a packaging machine.
Abstract:
A transportation system with a roll of material having an unsecured material portion is disclosed. The transportation system includes a first roller and a second roller spaced apart from the first roller. The spacing between the first roller and the second roller define a cradle. The cradle is operable to receive the roll of material, the roll of material having the unsecured material portion. At least one of the first roller and the second roller is rotatable about its axis to facilitate a securing of the unsecured material portion of the roll of material.
Abstract:
A method for storing cardboard tubes (2) in a storing unit according to the present invention comprising the following steps: providing a storage unit with an input section for the tubes (2), a storage section (AC) comprising a plurality of storing planes (13), an output section for the tubes (2), transfer means (3) for transferring the tubes (2) from the input section to the storage section, and discharge means for conveying the tubes (2) from the storing section to the output section; providing a plurality of cardboard tubes (2) in the input section (E) of said storage unit; transferring the tubes (2) from the input section of the storage unit to the storage section; storing a plurality of tubes (2) in said storage section (AC); transferring the tubes (2) from said storage section (AC) to said output section. The step of transferring the tubes (2) from said input section to said storage section involves more tubes (2) simultaneously, whereby a plurality of tubes (2) are transferred from said input section simultaneously on a plurality of storing planes (13) of the storage section (AC).
Abstract:
A system for removing a plastic wrap from a cylindrical module includes a conveyor transporting the cylindrical module toward a disperser with the cylindrical axis of the module parallel to the direction of conveyor movement. The direction of the wrap around the module is determined and the cover is removed during rotation of the module, either by unwrapping the plastic or by slitting the plastic and then rotating the module. In one embodiment, the equipment used to handle a cylindrical module is moved out of the path of movement of a conventional rectangular module so an installation can handle both rectangular and wrapped cylindrical modules.
Abstract:
An end point spring separator is positioned adjacent a dispensing area of a pneumatic tube having a plurality of coil springs in serial order therethrough. The separator rotates a downstream positioned coil spring while holding stationary an adjacent upstream positioned coil spring to separate potentially entangled ends of each spring passing thereby.
Abstract:
A method of transferring items comprises feeding items toward a carrier mechanism from one or more input streams and engaging void areas in the items with one or more rods extending from the carrier mechanism. The method further comprises manipulating the carrier mechanism relative to the one or more input streams into a position substantially aligned with one or more output streams and feeding the items to the one or more output streams. The configuration of items in each input stream is different than the configuration of items in each output stream.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a system for removing a plastic wrap from a cylindrical module includes a conveyor transporting the cylindrical module toward a disperser with the cylindrical axis of the module parallel to the direction of conveyor movement. In another embodiment, the disperser is a travelling head disperser thereby providing relative movement between the modules and the disperser. The direction of the wrap around the module is determined and the cover is removed during rotation of the module, either by unwrapping the plastic or by slitting the plastic and then rotating the module. The equipment used to handle a cylindrical module is moved out of the path of movement of a conventional rectangular module so an installation can handle both rectangular and wrapped cylindrical modules.
