摘要: A vegetation block comprises a block main body 10 made of a concrete, and an outer layer body 20 constituted by forming, into a mat shape, a fiber aggregate F which is located on an outer surface of the block main body 10 during the forming of the block main body 10 and which enables growth of a plant. The outer layer body 20 is formed by inserting many needles into the stacked fiber F from the upper side thereof and then pressing the needles, and many longitudinal fibers are allowed-to be present in the fiber aggregate F of the outer layer body 20 to facilitate entry of the fibers into the concrete. Moreover, aggregates of uniform grain. sizes are used as aggregates of the concrete, and a porosity of the concrete is set to be 10 to 25% so that the fibers of the outer layer body 20 may easily enter into the concrete. In consequence, the outer layer body 20 is surely bonded to the concrete so as to prevent the outer layer body 20 from easily peeling off, and the rooting of the grown plant in the fiber aggregate surely proceeds.

摘要: A method is provided for maintaining the structured stability and configuration of golf course sand bunker borders which method comprises excavating the soil area adjacent the bunker edge, rigidly positioning adjacent open-top, uniquely designed compartments in the excavated area along the edge of the bunker, filling the compartment with soil to the top of each compartment and leveling the soil on top of the compartments. Each compartment comprises side panels, front and back panels and a bottom closure panel. The compartment is rigidly positioned by means of spikes driven through the back and front panel into the soil at the edge of the bunker and a spike through the bottom closure into the soil beneath the sand in the bunker.

摘要: The present invention relates to a foundation comprising one or more layers or mattresses of tyres such as 12 and 14, and a fill material provided within and/or between tyres of each of the mattresses 12 and 14. The fill material 16 is preferably a relatively coarse aggregate and provides a porous bed having relatively high drainage capacity. The lowermost mattress 14 is typically wrapped in a porous sheet such as a geofabric cloth which is designed to allow the passage of water across the lowermost mattress 14 whilst preventing the ingress of relatively finer material into the fill and which can otherwise lead to degeneration of the foundation. At least some of the tyres typically also have an upper sidewall removed therefrom.

摘要: A method for making a breakwater includes the steps of making cubic blocks each with interlocking grooves and ribs respectively formed on opposite corners of the cubic block; progressively interlocking the cubic blocks from shallow water to deep water by sliding the ribs in the corresponding grooves; flushing the top faces of the interlocked cubic blocks; and securing the engaged cubic blocks. The cubic blocks are placed in position from the land or the previously assembled breakwater, such that no barge is required and thus no water or weather condition needs to be taken into account

摘要: An interconnected block system including a plurality of staggered rows of block members formed of concrete or the like secured to the upper surface only of an underlying, interconnecting, grid-like, matrix sheet. In one embodiment, a plurality of connector elements are connected to the matrix material preferably by bodkin connections to form one or a multiplicity of openings or apertures above the upper surface of the matrix sheet for reception of the block-forming material. The block members are cast on top of the matrix sheet material to capture the connector elements which provides a mechanical interlock between the block member and the matrix. The matrix sheet material preferably includes a layer of geotextile bonded on an opposite side from the block members. An alternate embodiment provides a strip or mat to underly the matrix sheet with a plurality of projections upstanding therefrom and passing through the matrix sheet. Free end portions of the projections are configured to retain block-forming material cast to surround the projections. Multiple layers of interconnected blocks may be made without waiting for the concrete to set by using preformed mold elements which are left in place in the final product and which act to support superimposed layers as they are cast. A sleeve may be secured to a leading edge of the matrix sheet to receive and retain a sand-filled tube or the like to prevent lifting of the matrix sheet by wave action or the like. An alternative block includes slots extending from an upper surface to a lower surface for engagement with connector devices securing a sheet material matrix to the lower surface and optionally a sheet material matrix to the upper surface of the block.

摘要: A gridwork or crib structure is formed from reinforced, injection molded plastic or injection molded structural foam plastic crossbeams, stringers and fascia members by interlocking the members and pinning the stringers together to form a structure which can function as a gravity retaining wall to retain earth, as a structural wall, or as a water wall. The individual crossbeams are laid end-to-end on conventional base footings and define elongated slots and holes into which are connected the stringers, which are then locked and pinned together, thereby forming an initial crib or grid layer at ground level. This crib or grid layer can be built up in height and depth to provide an open structure defining securement channels into which earth is filled. Use of slot and hole connections produce an adjustable interfitted grid which can assume a convex or concave curvature, or the usual linear form, or the grid can form a square corner. Consequently, it is relatively easy to build the crib or grid layers to follow uneven perimeters such as property lines, roads, hill sides, etc. Since the plastic crossbeams and stringers are quite light, it is very easy to erect the crib or grid, compared to working with metal, timber or concrete reinforcement beams. This enables its installation in inaccessible locations, since it does not require heavy equipment for its construction. Also, the opening in fascia elements of the crib or grid enables planting of vegetation into the earth fill for soil retention or decoration.

摘要: Revetments are constructed using a plurality of revetment units which are arranged on river bed or the like. Each revetment unit comprises a stem and a disc-like head. The stem is stepped so that it has a relatively short larger diameter part and a relatively long smaller diameter part. The heads of units in each upper course lie behind the heads of the units in the course below and rest on the larger diameter parts. The heads and stems are preferably circular in cross-section but can be multi-facetted.
