摘要: A method of making a bi-metal pipe section, and especially reclaiming a used or damaged pipe section by making it into a bi-metal pipe section which resists corrosion. The bi-metal pipe section is used in constructing a pipe line or production tubing that resists corrosion at the pipe coupling where corrosion is especially prevalent in fluid conduits. The bi-metal pipe section is fabricated by first removing an annular marginal end of a length of the pipe section of the prior art, to provide a long length of pipe having a partially threaded cut end opposed to an opposite end. Next, an annular short length of pipe is axially aligned and butt welded to the cut, end of the long length of pipe. The short length of pipe preferably is an annular metallic alloy having greater resistance to corrosion respective to the long length of pipe. Next, the pipe section is placed in a turning lathe and threads are formed on the marginal end of the bi-metallic pipe, with the threads extending along the marginal cut end and along the short end of the bi-metallic pipe. The pipe section therefore has some of the original threads left at the opposed marginal ends thereof and therefore the new threads formed on the short end of the bi-metallic pipe must be a continuation of the old threads found on opposed ends of the first recited length of pipe.

摘要: A device for clamping relative to each other at opposite end edges two metal objects which are to be welded together including a draw bolt, an element screwed onto the draw bolt forming a tension nut, and a bridge piece which has an opening through which the draw bolt passes. The draw bolt at one end bears a relatively thin part with a clamping plate or similar element and at least one element is connected to the draw bolt above the relatively thin part which forms at least one protuberance projecting outwards. The bridge piece has guide means for guiding the protuberance in such a way that an up and down movement of the screw bolt relative to the bridge piece is permitted, but rotary movements of the screw bolt about its central axis are prevented. The relatively thin part may be formed by a blade-shaped member incorporating a window and said clamping plate is arranged for a pivotal movement from a position in which it lies flat inside the window to a position substantially perpendicular to said blade shaped member and visa versa.

摘要: The invention relates to a welded pipe joint comprising a sleeve (3) welded (5, 6) at each end thereof to the respective pipe (1, 2). The wall of the sleeve (3) at each pipe provided with a boring in which a nipple (11, 12) for oil is arranged. In connection with each nipple, a peripheral groove (15 16) is arranged to extend around the respective pipe (1, 2). Oil introduced through the nipples (11, 12) prevents pickling acid from entering clearances (9, 10) between the pipes (1, 2) and the sleeve (3), and impurities from gathering in gaps (7, 8) between the end faces of the pipes and a central shoulder (4) formed internally in the sleeve.

摘要: A system for preparing the abutting ends of pipe sections which are to be subsequently pressure welded together by the application of external heat to the joint and axial inward pressure on the respective pipe sections. The pipe ends are initially formed, or subsequently ground or cut so that the radially innermost portions of the ends are in contact with each other, and the radially outermost portions of the ends are slightly spaced from each other, preferably providing a radially outward diverging gap between the pipe ends.

摘要: A reforming pipe clamp comprises a pair of rigid arcuate members joined at corresponding ends to form an annulus adapted to encircle a pipe adjacent one end thereof, the inside diameter of the annulus being greater than the outside diameter of the encircled pipe. The annulus has a plurality of circumferentially spaced, radially adjustable force applying members which are engageable with the encircled pipe for reforming the pipe. The annulus carries circumferentially spaced supports capable of projecting beyond the end of the encircled pipe to provide support for one end of a confronting pipe that is to be joined to the encircled pipe. The supports are movable from their supporting position to a second position in which the entire circumference of the joint between the two pipes is accessible to a welder.

摘要: A weld joint for a fuel injection nozzle assembly and the like characterized in that axially interfitting tubular parts define therebetween an annular groove or gap of which one side has an axial step radially spaced outwardly from the bottom of the groove and radially spaced inwardly from the radially outer edge of the side of the groove. A metallic filler ring axially spans said groove and is coaxially located by said step to radially outwardly space its inside and outside surfaces respectively from the bottom of said groove and from the radially outer edges of the sides of said groove. The outside surface of the filler ring extends radially outward beyond the outer portions of the sides of the groove. The protruding portion of the weld ring permits fusion welding of the parts without addition of weld filler material. After the parts are welded together, the weld ring is integrally bonded to the adjacent portions of the sides of the groove to form a strong leakprrof joint between said nozzle parts. Another characterizing feature of the weld joint herein is that a flow divider valve or the like contained within the nozzle assembly can be repeatedly serviced or replaced by simply cutting through the filler ring with the point or tip of the tool entering the space between the bottom of the groove and the inside surface of the filler ring thus to permit separation of the nozzle parts where they are axially interfitted without burn up of the tip of the tool and to permit subsequent reassembly and welding of said parts with the filler ring being the only new part required.

摘要: A metallic pipe connector for T''s, crosses, bends, or a combination of such, and either full size or reducing, consists essentially of a pair of substantially identical semispherical shells in opposed relationship with their adjoining edges secured together with a continuous weld, thus forming a hollow sphere. This hollow sphere is provided with at least two circular openings therein, the axes of which are spaced from the adjoining edges of the semispherical shells at an angle of approximately 45*. The metal surrounding at least one, and in some instances all, of the circular openings is displaced into an outwardly projecting or ''''flued'''' portion; and the wall-thickness of the sphere with respect to the diameter of the openings therein being so arranged that there is sufficient metal between the openings to adequately compensate by way of reinforcement for the weakening of the walls of the sphere caused by the initial placing of the aforementioned openings therein. A pipe abuts the outer end of the circular collar ''''flued'''' portion to thus communicate with the interior of the sphere, the internal diameter and wall-thickness of each of the pipes corresponding to the wall-thickness and diameter of the outer end of the flue with which it communicates; and the adjacent ends of the pipes are secured to the flues by continuous welds. The cross-section of the wall of each of the outwardly projecting or ''''flued'''' portions is such as to provide sufficient metal in the area of reinforcement to adequately compensate by way of reinforcement for the weakening of the wall of the semisphere to which it is attached which was caused by the placing of the circular opening therein and with which it communicates.

摘要: A method for repairing tubes that, during use, develop on the tube surfaces contaminating layers that prevent joining of new tube sections, as in fluid circulating heat transfer installations for chemical reactors. At least two surrounding protective sleeves are initially joined as by welding, to a tube at spaced locations on the tube to protect underlying portions of the tube from development of such layers. If a defect occurs between the sleeves, the defective tube may be removed by cutting through the sleeves and the tube underneath, removing the cut tube section, removing the remaining cut sleeve portions from the adjacent tube ends, and then joining a replacement tube section to the portions of the unremoved tube that were protected by the sleeves, preferably with new sleeves fixed in place over the resulting joints.
