摘要: A tube arrangement as described herein can include a first and a second wedge shaped circular tube, or pie cut, that are each defined by a front face and a back face, a minimum face-to-face distance between the front face and the back face that is smaller than a maximum face-to-face distance between the front face and the back face. A plurality of evenly spaced keys is dispersed along the front face of the first pie cut. The keys are engaged with a plurality of evenly spaced facets dispersed along the back face of the second pie cut. A weld seals a joint located between the front face of the first pie cut to the back face of the second pie cut. This arrangement is beneficial for constructing custom shaped exhaust tubes by welding the offset pie cuts as needed.

摘要: A long steel pipe for reel-lay installation formed of electric resistance welded (ERW) steel pipes and having high buckling resistance and a method for producing the long steel pipe for reel-lay installation are provided. The long steel pipe is formed by successively butt-joining longitudinal ends of the ERW steel pipes by girth welding so that girth welds are formed. The ERW steel pipes are successively butt-joined in the pipe longitudinal direction such that the 0 o'clock cross-sectional position or the 6 o'clock cross-sectional position of one of adjacent ERW steel pipes faces an area from the 2 o'clock cross-sectional position to the 4 o'clock cross-sectional position or an area from the 8 o'clock cross-sectional position to the 10 o'clock cross-sectional position of the other of the adjacent ERW steel pipes.

摘要: An internal line-up clamp for welding pipe lengths end-to-end includes a clamp ring made up of a plurality of clamp ring elements that are angularly distributed around the circumference of the clamp ring. The clamp ring elements are divided into mutually opposed groups that are interdigitated such that the clamp ring elements alternate from one group to the other around the circumference of the clamp ring. A longitudinally-acting actuator system drives relative longitudinal movement of the groups to effect clamping expansion of the clamp ring by wedging interaction between the circumferentially-alternating clamp ring elements of the groups. By expanding the clamp ring in alignment with a weld plane between the abutting ends, the same clamp ring may be used to align the pipe lengths and to back a weld between them.
