摘要: A mass and heat transfer device uses a substantially vertical surface to separating a first fluid space from a second fluid space with the first fluid space containing a downward flowing liquid in at least a partially flooded state and an upward flowing gas contained at least partially within the downward flowing liquid. A fluid distribution surface with one or more apertures is provided within the first fluid space with the apertures controlling the downward passage and distribution of the downward flowing liquid and the upward passage and distribution of the upward flowing gas. A heat transfer fluid is used in the second fluid space for heat transfer with fluids in the first fluid space. The fluid distribution surface can be used in a horizontal, vertical or angled position and in annular, cylindrical, and hexahedral forms. The mass and heat transfer device is especially compact when sheet metal plates and frames are used as enclosures for the first and second fluid spaces and is especially useful when used as absorbers, condensers, desorbers, and evaporators in an absorption refrigeration machine.

摘要: The invention relates to a heat exchange element (1) which is made up of a bag of a film material, such as plastic film, and to a heat exchanger made up of such heat exchange elements, the heat exchanger being suitable, for example, for the evaporation of effluents which contain solid matter, such as effluents from bleaching. The transfer of heat takes place in the bags (1) from a vapor condensing in the interior (3) of the bags to a liquid evaporating on their exterior surfaces (2). The forming evaporated vapor may be recycled via a compressor to the interior of the bags as heating vapor so that the heat exchanger will function as a distillation apparatus. According to the invention there is bonded inside the bag (1) a planar condensate-removal member, substantially narrower than the bag, for example, a circular disc (9) to which the forming condensate is arranged to flow and in which there is formed a hole (13) and at least one condensate outlet duct (8) leading to it, the film material of the bag being pierced in the area of the hole on each side of the condensate-removal member. In the heat exchanger, which has oppositely positioned bags (9) tied to form a pack, the condensate-removal members (9) are located one against another, and the apertures pierced in the film material form a condensate-collection duct common to them. The condensate-removal members being narrower than the bags enables the solid matter from the suspension being evaporated to be removed by falling through the spaces between the bottoms (10) of adjacent bags.

摘要: A cryogenic cooling tower in which a process liquid from which heat is to be removed is supplied to the tower interior that has a plurality of plates vertically stacked one above the other, alternating in opposite directions and tilted downwardly at an angle relative to the tower vertical axis. A cryogenic cooling medium is supplied to the tower interior. The process liquid forms a film on the upper surface of the plate and drops from its front end to the next lower plate. While on a plate the process liquid spread into a film provides a greater surface area to react with the cooling medium to effect the heat transfer. The tilt angle of the plates can be adjusted to control the residence time of the process liquid in the tower.

摘要: A method and equipment for heat-of-vaporization transfer in a heat exchanger, using steam bubbles. To achieve higher transfers at slight overheating, and with a very simple design, steam bubbles are introduced into evaporation chambers formed between heat exchanger walls, said bubbles then being deformed by said walls and rising in-between them. As they rise, the steam bubbles form a thin liquid film between themselves and the heat exchanger walls, with constrained convection inside the film. As a result excellent local conditions for heat conduction are achieved. Moreover the liquid is well mixed and by evaporation into the bubble it is cooled as far as the immediate vicinity of the heat exchanger walls.

摘要: The invention relates to a heat exchanger element (10) comprising a bag formed from a compliant material like plastic sheet (11). The lower part of the bag ends to a condensate receiver (13), which is provided with a drain pipe (14) for the condensate. The upper part of the bag has means for introducing the vapour into the bag and distributing the liquid to be evaporated onto the outer surface of the bag. It is characteristic that inside the bag a perforated corrugated plate (12) is fitted in vertical direction with its width (L) chosen so that the bag tightens suitably around the corrugated plate. The length (P) of the corrugated plate (12) corresponds to a major portion of the length of the bag. A perforated corrugated plate (12') is fitted in horizontal direction against the outer surface of the bag with its length (P') substantially corresponding to the width of the bag.

摘要: In a plate evaporator of the falling film type, every second plate interspace constitutes an evaporation space (28) in which evaporation liquid is distributed across the width of the plates in order to run downwardly on the plates, whereas the rest of the plate interspaces constitute condensation spaces (30) for a heat emitting vapor. The invention concerns a particular arrangement for supplying evaporation liquid to the evaporation spaces (28). According to this arrangement, a distribution chamber (27) is delimited within the uppermost part of each plate interspace constituting an evaporation space (28). This distribution chamber extends across the whole width of the plates and communicates with an inlet channel for liquid, extending through the plate package and formed by aligned openings (16) in the plates. In the upper part of each condensation space (30), several sealing means (25) are arranged horizontally spaced from each other. Each sealing means (25) forms together with the two adjacent plates a transferring chamber (29) that is closed from the condensation space (30), but through small holes (17, 18) in the plates communicates with at least one distribution chamber (27) and one evaporation space (28). Heat emitting vapor may flow into each condensation space (30) from above through the gaps formed between the horizontally spaced sealing means (25).

摘要: A condenser/evaporator heat exchanger comprising a plurality of vertically oriented panel units spaced moderately from one another. Each panel unit comprises a pair of thin film plastic sheets bonded to one another along a plurality of vertically extending bond lines transversely spaced from one another at regular intervals. The two sheets form between adjacent pairs of bond lines a plurality of vertical tubular condensing chambers adapted to receive pressurized steam. Brine is directed onto the outer surfaces of the panel units at the upper ends thereof, the brine descending down the outer surfaces of the panel units to be in heat exchange relationship with the steam inside the tubular condensing chambers.
