Abstract: A set cement mechanical property parameter measurement method and apparatus based on image recognition technology. The method includes: acquiring a first image of a set cement specimen; extracting at least one feature point in the first image; acquiring a second image of the set cement specimen, the second image being an image of the set cement specimen subjected to a compressive load during a compressive test; determining a deformation gradient of the feature point by positions of the same feature point in the first image and the second image; determining a strain tensor by the deformation gradient; and determining a Young's modulus parameter and a Poisson's ratio parameter by the strain tensor. The method can reduce the measurement period of the Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio of the set cement specimens, simplify the corresponding operation process, and reduce the corresponding measurement error.

Abstract: A method of evaluating fatigue in a hair fibre sample includes receiving fatigue testing data for the hair fibre sample for a plurality of loading cycles, in which the fatigue testing data comprises force or stress against displacement or strain data. The method also includes determining, for at least a subset of the loading cycles, a loading energy based on data from the fatigue testing data. The method also includes determining an indication of fatigue in the hair fibre sample based on the loading energy of the at least a subset of the loading cycles.

Abstract: A method includes two or more reference strain gradient information being a relationship between the strain at the hole edge and a strain gradient along a radial direction. Hole expansion forming is performed on the evaluation metal sheet under the same forming conditions as respective forming conditions corresponding to at least two pieces of the reference strain gradient information to obtain at least two limit hole expansion ratios at a hole expansion limit of the evaluation metal sheet. A formable region of the evaluation metal sheet is obtained from the at least two pieces of the reference strain gradient information and the obtained at least two limit hole expansion ratios at the hole expansion limit. Stretch flange cracking at the sheared end face of the evaluation metal sheet is evaluated by the obtained formable region.

Abstract: Provided herein are systems and methods for carrying out high-throughput quantitative measurements of bulk mechanical properties of soft materials. The systems include a centrifuge, solid particles, and sample wells. In the systems and methods, samples comprising solid particles embedded in soft materials contained within sample wells are centrifuged in a series of increasing centrifugal speed increments, and a bulk mechanical property, such as fracture stress or elastic modulus, of each soft material is determined by monitoring the centrifugal force needed for the solid particles to fracture the soft material in each of the samples.
