摘要: A method and apparatus perform file copying, including selecting a plurality of files, which a first terminal desires to copy, and temporarily storing the selected files in a second terminal; identifies whether there is a file collision between the first terminal and the second terminal before performing a copying of the temporarily stored files; generates a queue, which is a copying process order of the temporarily stored files, according to the existence of the file collision; copies the temporarily stored files using the queue; and displays a copying process speed of each file when a copying of queued files is performed.

摘要: A method is disclosed of configuring a data storage device. A manufacturing procedure is executed to generate a configuration data record. The configuration data record is compared to configuration execution records of an executable file, wherein the configuration execution records are for configuring at least one configuration file of the data storage device. When the configuration data record interlocks with the configuration execution records, the configuration file is modified.

摘要: A method is used in managing multi-tiered storage pool provisioning. One or more physical devices of a data storage system are configured for use in connection with provisioning a storage pool. A provisioning specification is received describing a RAID type and an auto-tiering selection. A rule is received describing one or more sets of data storage system best practices. Each of the one or more sets specifies data storage system best practices for a different type of data storage system including a first type associated with the data storage system. Configuration processing is performed in connection with initialization of the data storage system to configure a first portion of the one or more physical devices for use with auto-tiering in the storage pool. A rules engine and best practices for the first type of data storage system specified in the rule are used in performing the configuration processing.

摘要: Smooth animation effects during zooming are provided by retaining content displayed at a previous zoom level. If the zoom operation is a zoom out operation, new content is stretched to a current zoom level, aligned with the retained content, and placed underneath it. If the zoom operation is a zoom in operation, new content is scaled down to the current zoom level, aligned with the retained content, and displayed on top of the retained content. The new content is then zoomed with the retained content. The retained content is then deleted. When zooming out, the retained content fades out. When zooming in, the new content fades in. Smooth scrolling animation is also provided by pre-rendering a portion of content and teleporting to a final viewport position and thereby skipping over blank content.

摘要: A management device and management method capable of improving usability of a storage system is proposed. The management device and the management method for managing data migration between volumes in a storage system in which normal volumes to which fixed storage areas are allocated in advance and virtual volumes to which storage areas are dynamically allocated according to use status coexist as types of volumes for reading and writing data is arranged so that information regarding each volume is collected, and based on the collected information, at least a total logical capacity that is a summation of logical capacities determined in advance for the respective volume is separately displayed for normal volumes and virtual volumes.

摘要: Provided is a pool capacity monitoring technique capable of appropriately predicting timing of pool capacity depletion even if there is a change in the external environment, such as an addition of a new application and a characteristic change in an existing application. In the present invention, consumption of each medium comprising a pool is predicted every time there is a change in the external environment, such as an addition of an application, to predict the capacity depletion timing of the pool, and the prediction of the capacity depletion period is recalculated. A predicted value of I/O consumption patterns of each application using a virtual volume is calculated for each medium from past consumption patterns stored in a storage.

摘要: A method for rearranging a logical volume including arranging a logical volume rearranging program on a particular server and using the logical volume rearranging program to acquire server/storage mapping information from each server and performance information from each storage subsystem. Moreover, the logical volume rearranging program acquires request I/O (Input/Output) performance and a rearranging rule for each application set by a user. Furthermore, the logical volume rearranging program determines a destination by using the logical volume rearranging destination parity group specified by the user according to the aforementioned information, and rearranges the logical volume according to the storage subsystem performance and the request I/O performance of each application.

摘要: In order to appropriately manage configuration information acquired from a storage system for the purpose of performance management, etc., an information processing apparatus managing the configuration information, i.e., information indicative of a configuration of resources making up the storage system in a database, detects a change in setting of an I/O path to extract resources making up an invalidated I/O path, which is the I/O path subject to the change, as monitoring object resources, acquires performance information that is information indicative of operation statuses of the monitoring object resources from the storage system, judges whether the performance information of the monitoring object resource matches a preset policy, determines a timing to make invalidated configuration information, which is the configuration information related to the invalidated I/O path, deletable from the storage device based on the result of the judgement, and deletes the invalidated configuration information from the database when the determined timing comes.

摘要: The present invention comprises a generic mechanism for reporting on backup operations. An object is abstracted in order to provide a generic reporting object, and the generic reporting object is displayed by the reporting GUI. The GUI is thus provided for handling any object which is abstracted to the generic format. The generic format is applicable to any number of objects which would otherwise require the GUI to contain code specific for displaying the object.
