    摘要: An analog divider circuit as for use in AM stereophonic receivers provides minimum phase variation with control voltage level change, by means of a feedback circuit. The division process is performed by subtracting logarithms of currents produced by the dividend and divisor voltages, then deriving the antilog of the difference or remainder. At the critical point in the process, where junction capacitances do not accurately track the change in the control level, cross-coupled capacitors stabilize the circuit by feeding back a signal from the circuit output to minimize any undesired phase changes.

    摘要: A log-amp or log-ratio circuit for producing a temperature-independent output signal corresponding to the logarithm of the ratio of a pair of input currents. The basic logarithm function is generated by a pair of opposed P-N junctions through which the respective input currents flow. Temperature compensation is effected by a circuit including a second pair of opposed P-N junctions which receive a PTAT current split between the junctions in accordance with a modulation factor proportional to the desired logarithmic function. The temperature-induced signal variations produced by the PTAT current source are equal and opposite to the temperature-induced signal variations produced in the first pair of P-N junctions, and a temperature-independent output signal is developed in accordance with the modulation factor applied to the PTAT current through the second pair of P-N junctions.

    摘要: A non-linear amplifier system comprises two amplifier stages, a limiter and correction stage and a combining stage. The first amplifier stage amplifies low input signal levels linearly and higher input signal levels non-linearly. The limiter and correction stage amplifies linearly input signal levels corresponding to low input signal levels of the first amplifier stage. The second amplifier stage amplifies non-linearly input signals corresponding to low input signal levels of the first amplifier stage. The combining stage combines the output voltage signals of the first and second amplifier stages and the limiter and correction stage. For a range of low input signal levels, the output voltage signal of the combining stage is representative of the output voltage signal of the second amplifier stage, for a range of high input signal levels, the output voltage signal of the combining stage is representative of the output voltage signal of the first and second amplifier stages, and for a crossover range of input signal levels, which is intermediate the low range and the high range, the output voltage signal of the combining stage is representative of the output voltage signal of the second amplifier stage.

    摘要: A logarithmic converter circuit comprising an emitter-coupled pair of transistors and a pair of operational amplifiers is provided with a temperature-stabilized environment so that accurate logarithmic conversion is facilitated. One of the pair of transistors is utilized as a temperature sensor to provide a temperature control voltage, which in turn controls the power applied to a heating element disposed adjacent the pair of transistors to maintain a constant semiconductor junction temperature. The heating element may suitably be one or more transistors disposed proximate the pair of transistors on a common substrate. The absolute temperature of the sensor transistor base-to-emitter junction is established by the use of precise gain-setting components, and by adjusting the temperature reference voltage for the correct system gain.
