    摘要: A set of rules generated from data examples describing a situation can be created and updated according to new information received in real time. The set of rules provides a description of a domain of knowledge based on logical conclusions that can be drawn from the data. The rules are mutually exclusive, and are reduced to a minimized set that completely represents the data to which the rules are exposed. The outcome of the rules is adoptive to changing data and sensitive to shifts in the conclusions that can be drawn about the data. More recently received data is more heavily weighted than prior data to permit a rapid response to information shifts.

    摘要: The invention provides a perceptually-based system for pattern retrieval and matching, suitable for use in a wide variety of information processing applications. An illustrative embodiment of the system uses a predetermined vocabulary comprising one or more dimensions to extract color and texture information from an information signal, e.g., an image, selected by a user. The system then generates a distance measure characterizing the relationship of the selected image to another image stored in a database, by applying a grammar, comprising a set of predetermined rules, to the color and texture information extracted from the selected image and corresponding color and texture information associated with the stored image. The vocabulary may include dimensions such as overall color, directionality and orientation, regularity and placement, color purity, and pattern complexity and heaviness. The rules in the grammar may include equal pattern, overall appearance, similar pattern, and dominant color and general impression, with each of the rules expressed as a logical combination of values generated for one or more of the dimensions. The distance measure may include separate color and texture metrics characterizing the similarity of the respective color and texture of the two images being compared. The invention is also applicable to other types of information signals, such as sequences of video frames.

    摘要: A system and method of optically inspecting a structure on a surface of a production object which is supported on a moving inspection platform. The method reliably traces structure edges and stores structure and structure island characteristics. The system uses a camera and a light or energy source to sharply delineate the structure edges. A sequence of images of the object and the structure are captured, and the structure is detected in each image. The structure is then symbolically decomposed into primitives, and a histogram is produced for each image identifying the slope and length of each edge of the structure. The histograms are compared in each image, and are aligned to eliminate differences due to wobble of the inspection platform or differences in magnification. A production structure grammar is then produced from the aligned images. The production structure grammar is compared to a reference structure grammar generated from a defect-free object. Differences in the two grammars, if any, are used to identify missing, misaligned, or misoriented structures on the production object, and to detect foreign objects and other defects.

    摘要: A technique for automatically designing a fraud detection system using a series of machine learning methods. Data mining and constructive induction are combined with more standard machine learning techniques to design methods for detecting fraudulent usage based on profiling customer behavior. Specifically, a rule-learning is used to uncover indicators of fraudulent behavior from a large user database. These indicators are used to create profilers, which then serve as features to the fraud detection system that combines evidence from multiple profilers to generate high-confidence intervention activities when the system is deployed on-line with user data.

    摘要: In one aspect, a computerized method of computer vision based dynamic universal fashion ontology fashion rating and recommendations includes the step of receiving one or more user-uploaded digital images. The method includes the step of implementing an image classifier on the one or more user-uploaded digital images, to classify a set of user-uploaded fashion content of the one or more user-upload digital images. The method includes the step of receiving a set of fashion rules input by a domain expert. The set of rules determine a set of apparel to match with the set of user-uploaded fashion content, generating a dynamic universal fashion ontology with the image classier and a text classier. The dynamic universal fashion ontology comprises an ontology of set of mutually exclusive attribute classes. The method includes the step of using the dynamic universal fashion ontology to train a specified machine learning based fashion classifications. The method includes the step of using an active learning pipeline to keep the universal fashion ontology up-to-date. The method includes the step of using graphical representation and game theory-based algorithm for outfit generation. The method includes the step of providing an automatic outfit generator, wherein the automatic outfit generator: based on the set of user-uploaded fashion content that is output by the image classifier, matches the set of user-uploaded fashion with a ranked set of apparel suggestions that are based on the set of fashion rules and the specified machine learning based fashion classifications, wherein the automatic outfit generator implements a greedy algorithm to determine the most optimal path in the specified machine learning based fashion classifications to generate each suggested piece of apparel in the ranked set of apparel suggestions. The method includes the step of, based on the highest ranked suggested piece of apparel in the ranked set of apparel suggestions, generating an outfit suggestion. The method includes the step of ranking based on lifestyle parameters including but not limited to weather, brand affinity, brand popularity and novelty of style.
