Abstract:
In a magnetic tape apparatus, a cylinder motor and a capstan motor are provided separately. A family processing is realized by fabricating a stator core of the capstan motor by using the same die which is used for fabricating a stator core of the cylinder motor. Each of attachment pieces is fitted into the corresponding one of recess portions provided at a flange-shaped attachment portion of a bearing holder and the inner end of the attachment piece is engaged with a rib provided at the flange-shaped attachment portion. The inner end portion of the attachment piece is screwed with the flange-shaped attachment portion.
Abstract:
A population of disk drives includes a first disk drive configuration that has a spindle motor made according to the spindle motor design and a second disk drive configuration that has a spindle motor made according to the spindle motor design. A population of spindle motors are manufactured according to a spindle motor design. Each of the spindle motors in the population of spindle motors has a track-following characteristic in a range. A first group of spindle motors that correspond to a first portion of the range are allocated to the first disk drive configuration. A second group of spindle motors that correspond to the second portion of the range are allocated either to the second disk drive configuration or to the first disk drive configuration.
Abstract:
The direction in which an information disk apparatus is installed is judged without employing a sensor means. A control means (116) measures the number of track crossings when a reading means (104) is moved by a driving means (109) in a direction corresponding to the radius of an optical disk (102) for a predetermined period of time, and judges a direction in which a DVD-ROM player (101) is installed on the basis of the measured number of track crossings.
Abstract:
A voice recording/playback apparatus includes a head unit which records a voice signal in a recording medium and for playing back a recorded voice signal from the recording medium. A playback head amplifier unit amplifies a playback signal output from the head unit. A voice output unit outputs a voice in accordance with the playback signal amplified by the playback head amplifier unit. A muting switch is provided between the playback head amplifier unit and the voice output unit. The muting switch cuts off a connection between the playback head amplifier unit and the voice output unit when a voice recording mode is performed by the head unit.
Abstract:
Robbery of a vehicle-mount electric apparatus can be prevented by only driving an operation panel to turn it upside down. The operation panel is disposed in front of the main body of the vehicle-mount audio apparatus, and is moved while being rotated about its rotary shaft. The operation panel moves between first and second states. In the first state, the normally used surface of the operation panel is used as the front surface of the apparatus, and in the second state, the surface other than the normally used surface is used as the front surface. When the operation panel takes generally a horizontal state during the motion of the operation panel 5, the rotary shaft thereof is positioned at one end of the motion range of the operation panel. A drive mechanism chassis for supporting a mechanism for driving the operation panel is supported by horizontal guide grooves of a fixed chassis movably in the horizontal direction, and the horizontal motion of the rotary shaft of the operation panel is regulated by a horizontal guide groove of the fixed chassis.
Abstract:
A disk apparatus has an actuator supporting a head and a motor for rotating the actuator. The motor has a flat movable coil supported by the actuator and a pair of permanent magnets supported by a pair of yokes. The coil moves in a space defined between the permanent magnets. The yokes are fixed to each other by an adsorption by the permanent magnets. An inner edge of the coils overlaps an outer edge of the permanent magnets.
Abstract:
An ejector apparatus of a tray device is provided. The tray device movably seats within the space of an electronic equipment. The ejector apparatus includes a support and an ejector. The support has a attachment apparatus adapted to mount on a chassis of the electronic equipment. The ejector pushes the tray device out of the electronic equipment in response to a force applied from the outside of the electronic equipment. The ejector is pivotally connected to the support.
Abstract:
A linear actuator for positioning the heads of a disk file relative to tracks on the disks employs a ceramic material having wear properties superior to steel in guide surfaces for guiding a head supporting carriage running on rotary bearings in contact with the guide surfaces. The preferred ceramic material is tetragonally stabilized zirconia.
