摘要: Disclosed are methods for identification and quantification of a number of different materials within an object using one or more multi-energy CT imaging devices and the image data sets produced therefrom. Identification and quantification of different materials is achieved by using the following three properties: solve only for sparse solutions; separate the soft tissue problem from the dense material problem; and use a combinatorial approach to allow for simple application of different constraints to different combinations of materials. Also disclosed are one or more computer program products, computer systems or computer implemented methods for the identification of multiple materials within an object.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to the field of a cabinet x-ray incorporating an x-ray tube, an x-ray detector, and an optical camera for the production of organic and non-organic images. The computing device receives data including video data from an optical camera, a laser detector, an infrared detector, an ultrasonic detector, or a weight scale or pressure sensor, and determines automatically, based on the resultant data, if a sample/specimen has been left in the sample chamber. In particular, the disclosure relates to a system and method with corresponding apparatus for automatic detection if a sample/specimen has been left in the sample chamber without having to open the chamber door.

摘要: A system for non-destructive examination of three-dimensional (3D) printed objects includes a muon source directs muon particles at and through the 3D object and a muon detector receives the muon particles from the muon source to produce a muon signal which is representative of the 3D object. A first computing device executes an algorithm to analyze the muon signal. The analysis comprises creating a 3D rendering of the 3D object based upon the muon signal; preparing a physics-based digital model of the 3D object; and comparing the 3D rendered object to the digital model to identify defects within the 3D object. An augmented reality (AR) device and a second computing device may communicate with the first computing device and receive the 3d rendered object and the digital model. This can used on earth, in space, on a moon or asteroid or another planet as muons occur naturally in these environments.

摘要: Embodiments provide a stationary X-ray source for a multisource X-ray imaging system for tomographic imaging. The stationary X-ray source includes an array of thermionic cathodes and, in most embodiments a rotating anode. The anode rotates about a rotation axis, however the anode is stationary in the horizontal or vertical dimensions (e.g. about axes perpendicular to the rotation axis). The elimination of mechanical motion improves the image quality by elimination of mechanical vibration and source motion; simplifies system design that reduces system size and cost; increases angular coverage with no increase in scan time; and results in short scan times to, in medical some medical imaging applications, reduce patient-motion-induced blurring.

摘要: Disclosed herein is an apparatus comprising: an array of avalanche photodiodes (APDs) or an absorption region comprising a semiconductor single crystal such as a CdZnTe single crystal or a CdTe single crystal. The apparatus may be configured to absorb radiation particles incident on an absorption region of the APDs or the semiconductor single crystal and to generate charge carriers. The apparatus may comprise an electrode comprising silver nanoparticles and being electrically connected to the absorption region of the APDs or the semiconductor single crystal. For the APDs, each of the APDs may comprise an amplification region, which may comprise a junction with an electric field in the junction. The electric field may be at a value sufficient to cause an avalanche of charge carriers entering the amplification region, but not sufficient to make the avalanche self-sustaining. The junctions of the APDs may be discrete.
