摘要: The present invention provides a method for encoding a video signal on the basis of a graph-based lifting transform (GBLT), comprising the steps of: detecting an edge from an intra residual signal; generating a graph on the basis of the detected edge, wherein the graph includes a node and a weight link; acquiring a GBLT coefficient by performing the GBLT for the graph; quantizing the GBLT coefficient; and entropy-encoding the quantized GBLT coefficient, wherein the GBLT includes a partitioning step, a prediction step, and an update step.

摘要: An image coding method includes: generating a predicted block; calculating a residual block; calculating quantized coefficients by performing transform and quantization on the residual block; calculating a coded residual block by performing inverse quantization and inverse transform on the quantized coefficients; generating a temporary coded block; determining whether or not an offset process is required, to generate first flag information indicating a result of the determination; executing the offset process on the temporary coded block when it is determined that the offset process is required; and performing variable-length coding on the quantized coefficients and the first flag information.

Improved streaming techniques that include estimating a location of a viewport at a future time. According to such techniques, the viewport may represent a portion of an image from a multi-directional video to be displayed at the future time, and tile(s) of the image may be identified in which the viewport is estimated to be located. In these techniques, the image data of tile(s) in which the viewport is estimated to be located may be requested at a first service tier, and the other tile in which the viewport is not estimated to be located may be requested at a second service tier, lower than the first service tier.

A segment selector selects an encoded version of the encoded video segment using operational criteria such as video quality and bandwidth. A configuration determination module may analyze the video segment to make a decision about which encoding parameter configurations may be suitable for encoding the video segment. The configuration determination module may be trainable, based on past encoding results.

The pixel data compression system may include pixel data to variable-precision floating-point conversion circuitry, discrete wavelet transform circuitry, encoding circuitry, and serialization circuitry. The pixel data to variable-precision floating-point conversion circuitry may generate bits associated with a floating-point representation of the pixel data. The bits associated with the floating-point representation may include a sign component, an exponent component, and a mantissa component. The exponent component may be offset by a value to generate the floating-point value associated with the pixel data.

摘要: A semiconductor device with a novel structure is provided. Input neuron circuits, hidden neuron circuits, and output neuron circuits are hierarchically connected to one another through plural synapse circuits. Each synapse circuit includes an analog memory which stores data corresponding to a connection strength between the input neuron circuit and the hidden neuron circuit or between the hidden neuron circuit and the output neuron circuit, a writing circuit which changes the data in the analog memory, and a weighting circuit which outputs an output signal obtained by weighting an input signal in accordance with data in the analog memory. The analog memory is formed using a transistor including an oxide semiconductor having extremely low off-state current. It is not necessary to mount a large-scale capacitor for holding data and to recover analog data by regular refresh operation; thus, reduction in a chip area and reduction in power consumption are possible.

摘要: Systems and methods are described for encoding and decoding video using derived block vectors as predictors in intra block copy mode. In an exemplary encoding method, an encoder identifies at least a first candidate block vector for the prediction of an input video block, where the first candidate block vector points to a first candidate block. The encoder then identifies a first predictive vector (e.g. a block vector or a motion vector) that was used to encode the first candidate block. From the first candidate block vector and the first predictive vector, the encoder generates a derived predictive vector from the first candidate block vector and the first predictive vector. The encoder then encodes the video block in the bit stream using the derived predictive vector for the prediction of the input video block.

The method includes identifying a pixel in an image, wherein the image comprises a plurality of tiles including color data that is displayed by a plurality of pixels, wherein each tile is associated with a base value, a delta value, and a plurality of indices. One or more tiles associated with the pixel are identified. An interpolated base is determined by interpolating decompressed bases of the one or more tiles. An interpolated delta is determined by interpolating deltas of the one or more tiles. An index is determined for the pixel. A color value is determined for the pixel based on the interpolated base, interpolated delta, and the index.
