    Abstract: A semiconductor device includes: a base including a base surface; a mesa protruding from the base surface in a first direction intersecting the base surface, the mesa including a top surface and two side surfaces on both sides of the top surface, and extending along the base surface; and an electric resistor including a top wall provided on the top surface and a side wall provided on at least one of the two side surfaces, the electric resistor being configured such that a current flows in an extending direction of the mesa.

    Abstract: An analyte identifying and sorting apparatus for sorting a target analyte based on an identification result of analytes dispersed in a liquid. The apparatus includes an identification unit including an analyte storage section configured to store analytes dispersed in a liquid, a pressure control section configured to feed the liquid to a flow path provided to extend downward from the analyte storage section, a light irradiation section configured to irradiate light to the analytes, an optical information measurement section measuring optical information of the analytes, and a determination section determining whether the analyte is a target analyte or a non-target analyte based on the optical information. Also included is a sorting unit that includes a sorting nozzle connected to the identification unit and sorts a sorted solution containing the target analyte to the vessel, an effluent collection section having a suction nozzle to suck and collect an effluent involving an effluent discharged from a tip of the sorting nozzle, and a collection vessel configured to collect the sorted solution containing the target analyte. A moving unit moves the sorting nozzle and/or the collection vessel, a control unit moves the sorting nozzle and/or the collection vessel based on the optical information, and a stirring unit including a stirring member in an inner space of the analyte storage section.

    Abstract: An optical connection component includes: a plurality of types of optical fibers; a plurality of high relative refractive-index difference optical fibers in each of which a relative refractive-index difference between a core and a cladding is larger than a relative refractive-index difference in each of the plurality of types of optical fibers and which are fusion spliced to the plurality of types of optical fibers; and a fixing member having a plurality of V-shaped grooves that receive the high relative refractive-index difference optical fibers with coating removed, the fixing member being configured to fix relative positions of the high relative refractive-index difference optical fibers and an optical element when optically coupling the high relative refractive-index difference optical fibers, which have been fusion spliced to the plurality of types of optical fibers, to the optical element. The high relative refractive-index difference optical fibers are of the same type.

    Abstract: A rotary connector device is provided, which includes a moving member on a stator side in an insertion direction of a steering shaft, the moving member including a first recessed portion recessed in the insertion direction and located in a first direction (X) orthogonal to a center axis (Cx) of the stator, and a second recessed portion recessed in a direction opposite to the first recessed portion and located in a second direction (Y); a rotator including a first guide portion configured to loosely fit together with and guide the first recessed portion; a rotating portion provided in the stator and configured to rotate about the center axis (Cx) includes a second guide portion configured to loosely fit together with and guide the second recessed portion; and the first recessed portion and the second recessed portion are capable of movement in the first direction (X) and the second direction (Y).
