Abstract:
An example provides an apparatus including a light guide panel with a plurality of diffraction gratings to cause light to propagate within the light guide panel by total internal reflection and scatter light in response to a presence of an object adjacent to the light guide panel.
Abstract:
Techniques for retrieving data blocks are provided. In one aspect, a storage fabric address of a controller associated with a data block is retrieved by a node. If the node is on the same storage fabric as the retrieved address, the data block may be retrieved over the storage fabric. In another aspect, a directory server maintains mappings of data blocks to storage fabric addresses of controllers associated with the data blocks. A request for the location of the data block includes the storage fabric address of the associated controller.
Abstract:
A transflective display pixel includes a sub-pixel with a light-recycling modulation layer, a luminescent layer, and a selective reflector layer and a backlight source to provide backlight to the sub-pixel. The light-recycling modulation layer is to reflect light from the luminescent layer having a first polarization state, and the selective reflector layer is to reflect light from the luminescent layer in a first waveband. The selective reflector layer is to transmit the backlight to the luminescent layer, and the luminescent layer converts light from the light-recycling modulation layer and the backlight into the first waveband.
Abstract:
An image processing system generates a correspondence mapping between an imaging system and a directional rendering system using first and second images captured to include and first and second coded patterns displayed simultaneously in at least partially non-overlapping views.
Abstract:
A method for making polymer-encapsulated metallic ink particles is disclosed herein. An ethylene-based polymeric resin powder is formed, and is mixed with a metallic pigment powder to form a powder mixture. The powder mixture is melted to form a metallic polymer melt. A non-polar carrier is added to the metallic polymer melt to form a slurry. The slurry is processed in a microfluidizer.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is drawn to an ink sets, printed articles, and related methods. The ink set can comprise a pre-treatment ink and a reflective ink. The pre-treatment ink can comprise a first liquid vehicle and inorganic pigment particles having an average particle size ranging from 20 nm to 300 nm and a refractive index of less than 2. The reflective ink can comprise a second liquid vehicle and metal oxide particles having an average particle size from 3 nm to 180 nm, wherein the average particle size of the metal oxide particles is smaller than the average particle size of the inorganic pigment particles. The reflective ink is formulated to have a metallic luster when overprinted on pre-treatment ink.
Abstract:
An electronic document is produced from scanning a physical document that is to be subjected to redaction. The electronic document is sent to at least one device associated with at least one reviewer. Data relating to redaction input by the at least one reviewer is received. One of plural different options for processing the physical document is selected based on which of plural completion statuses has been marked for the electronic document.
Abstract:
Examples disclosed herein relate to providing information about print service providers to create a print product. In one implementation, a processor matches a subset of the print service providers with a user query for a service to produce a custom print product. The processor may determine a manner of displaying information about the matched print service providers based on criteria related to the desirability of producing the custom print product associated with at least one of the print service providers. The processor may cause the information to be displayed in the determined manner
