Abstract:
A method and an apparatus are disclosed for applying frequency layer convergence (FLC) to connected mode user equipments (UE) having no dedicated channel for a multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) service in a mobile communication system employing a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) scheme. The method and apparatus prevent uplink signaling congestion which may occur when the UEs located in non preferred frequency layers (NPL) of the MBMS service move to a preferred frequency layers (PL) when a MBMS service session starts. If the MBMS service session starts in a situation of applying the FLC, a radio network controller (RNC) notifies the UEs desiring to receive the MBMS service and located in NPLs for the MBMS service of FLC information including a PF value and a timer value, with reference to the number of the NPL UEs joining the MBMS service. The UEs performs a PF test according to the PF and timer values, thereby maintaining the degree of congestion and signal transmission load at appropriate levels.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for phase modulating SYNC codes transmitted over downlink pilot time slots DwPTSs when a primary common control physical channel P-CCPCH is transmitted using transmit diversity in an NB-TDD CDMA mobile communication system. The apparatus and method transmits and receives the P-CCPCH signal using the transmit diversity by providing a diversity indicator for changing phase variation of the SYNC codes included in the DwPTSs.
Abstract:
A method for selecting a cell by a user equipment (UE) to receive a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) service in a mobile communication system which supports the MBMS service with different frequency allocations (FAs) in the same area. In the method, a radio network controller (RNC) transmits information on an MBMS cell to the UE, and the MBMS cell information includes an MBMS offset for guaranteeing priority for cell reselection to the MBMS cell. The UE performs cell reselection using the MBMS cell information and receives the MBMS service from the reselected cell.
Abstract:
A conditional processing method and apparatus for efficient memory management are provided. A conditional processing method includes generating a parse tree by loading a plurality of nodes of data structured based on a declarative description language in a memory in series; evaluating, when a parsing switch node having an attribute describing a condition for conditional processing exists among the nodes, child nodes of the parsing switch node according to the attribute; loading only the child nodes fulfilling the attribute in the memory; and outputting the child nodes retained on the memory.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting a User Interface (UI) to a client in a communication system supporting a Remote User Interface (RUI), in which a representation level of a UI requested by the client is determined, whether the representation level is available in a service provided to the client is determined, and a UI having an available representation level is provided to the client, according to the determination results.
Abstract:
A mobile broadcast system for delivering a notification event for generation of a notification message for information provisioning to a subscriber receiving a broadcast service is provided. The mobile broadcast system includes a first apparatus for managing subscriber information of the broadcast service, handling generation of at least one notification message according to at least one notification event, and generating a response message indicating generation end of the notification message; and a second apparatus for sending a notification event message for requesting generation of the notification message to the first apparatus according to the at least one notification event, receiving the response message in response thereto, and then handling delivery of the notification message over a broadcast channel or an interaction channel.
Abstract:
A mobile communication system supporting an MBMS service includes a Node B having a plurality of transport channels and at least one UE communicating with the Node B. The Node B selects a transport channel for MBMS control information among a plurality of transport channels mapped to a secondary common control physical channel; transmits a system information block indicating the selected transport channel to a cell area where UEs are located, using a primary common control physical channel; and transmits the MBMS control information to the cell area using the selected transport channel. The UE receives a system information block indicating a transport channel selected to transmit MBMS control information among a plurality of transport channels mapped to a secondary common control physical channel, over a primary common control physical channel; receives the MBMS control information over the selected transport channel among the plurality of the transport channels, using the system information block; and receives the MBMS service using the MBMS control information.
Abstract:
Provided is a broadcasting system based on a network using an Internet protocol (IP). In the broadcasting system, a broadcast transmitter previously transmits first access information including a first network address for transmitting a general notification message and second access information associated with management of the broadcasting system, to a broadcast receiver. If a general notification event occurs, the general notification message is generated and the generated general notification message is transmitted to the broadcast receiver via one of a broadcast network and an interaction network using the first network address. The broadcast receiver receives a general notification message based on the first network address in data received from the broadcast transmitter.
Abstract:
A system for reporting a reception ratio of a broadcast service in a broadcasting system. A network entity sends a reception ratio report indication message indicating at least one measurement type of a reception ratio for a broadcast streaming service. A terminal receives the reception ratio report indication message, and sends a reception ratio report message including the reception ratio indicative of a ratio of an expectedTotalPackets indicating a total number of packets that the terminal expects to receive for a reception ratio measurement interval according to a measurement type indicated by the reception ratio report indication message, to a receivedTotalPackets indicating a total number of packets that the terminal has received for the reception ratio measurement interval.
Abstract:
A method for providing stereoscopic three-dimensional (3D) image/video content in a terminal based on Lightweight Application Scene Representation (LASeR) is provided. The method includes receiving a LASeR content including therein stereoscopic 3D image/video information, decoding the received LASeR content according to a stereoscopic 3D image/video attribute, checking LASeR commands from the decoded LASeR content, carrying out the LASeR commands, parsing scene information including stereoscopic 3D image/video information included in the decoded LASeR content, determining whether a media object to be included in scene description is a stereoscopic 3D image/video according to the stereoscopic 3D image/video information and, when the media object to be included in scene description is a stereoscopic 3D image/video, displaying the stereoscopic 3D image/video according to whether the terminal supports a stereoscopic 3D image/video.
