    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel having a display region and a peripheral region, the display panel including a TFT substrate, a counter substrate fixed to the TFT substrate by seal material formed at the peripheral region, and liquid crystal interposed between the TFT substrate and the counter substrate. The TFT substrate includes an inorganic film and an organic film, with first column spacers being formed on the counter substrate. The organic film includes a first part which has an island-like shape formed at the peripheral region and a second part formed at the display region, and the seal material covers at least one of the first column spacers and the first part of the organic film, and is in contact with the inorganic film. The first part of the organic film is separated from the second part of the organic film of the organic film.

    Abstract: Provided is a liquid crystal display device including: gate lines formed in a first direction on a second transparent substrate; data lines formed in a second direction; first transparent common electrodes; a protective insulating film; transparent pixel electrodes arranged in the first direction and the second direction and formed so as to be opposed to the first transparent common electrodes on a surface of the protective insulating film; thin film transistors connected to the transparent pixel electrodes; a second transparent common electrode formed on the surface of the protective insulating film; and a liquid crystal layer formed on the protective insulating film, the transparent pixel electrodes, and the second transparent common electrode. The second transparent common electrode covers the gate lines and the data lines through intermediation of the protective insulating film.

    Abstract: Provided is a display device, comprising: a display panel; a frame that holds the display panel; and an adhesive member to adhesively fix the display panel and the frame to each other. The adhesive member includes a base material, a first adhesive layer disposed on a surface on the display panel side of the base material, and a second adhesive layer disposed on a surface on a frame side of the base material. In planar view, the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer are disposed in at least a part of the adhesive member so as not to overlap each other, and a clearance is formed between the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer. The first substrate includes first wirings extending in a first direction, second wirings extending in a second direction, third wirings extending in the first direction. A center position of a width in the second direction of the third wiring disposed at boundary between blue and red pixels is displaced to a red pixel side from a center position of a width in the second direction of the first wiring disposed at boundary between the blue and red pixels. A center position of a width in the second direction of the third wiring disposed at boundary between the red and green pixels is displaced to the red pixel side from a center position of a width in the second direction of the first wiring disposed at the boundary between the red and green pixels.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) device and a method for driving LCD. Such a device may have a plurality of LCD pixels in a matrix, a driver that inputs a drive signal to each pixel selectively and a controller that controls a level and a polarity of the drive signal, and a memory storing corrected charge voltage values. Each pixel is provided with the drive signal based on the corrected charge voltage values for the corresponding pixel during the entirety of a horizontal period, and the corrected charge voltage value has a predetermined value corresponding to a charge for an intended gray scale level of the pixel at the end of the horizontal period without an over shooting of the driving voltage. When the target gray scale of the pixels is at the brightest level, a predetermined negative corrected charge is applied to the pixel to avoid an after image.

    Abstract: A mobile phone is provided which includes a liquid crystal display device in which a front window and a touch panel are bonded together with an adhesive sheet, wherein a logo having plural layers is formed on a back side of the front window. A touch-panel flexible wiring substrate is mounted to the touch panel. A plane distance between an end portion of the plural layers of the logo and an end portion of the touch panel is set to greater than zero. With this configuration, it is possible to prevent a peeling stress on the adhesive sheet, even if a thickness of the adhesive sheet is smaller than the sum of a thickness of the touch-panel flexible wiring substrate and a thickness of the logo.
