Abstract: A method for intra prediction comprises determining a first MPM candidate corresponding to a left-side candidate block on the basis of a position of the left-side candidate block adjacent to a left side of a current block; determining a second MPM candidate corresponding to an upper-end candidate block on the basis of a position of the upper-end candidate block adjacent to an upper end of the current block; generating an MPM candidate list including a plurality of MPM candidates, on the basis of the first MPM candidate and the second MPM candidate; and determining one MPM candidate of the plurality of the MPM candidates that constitute the MPM candidate list as an intra prediction mode of the current block, and performing intra prediction for the current block on the basis of the determined intra prediction mode to generate a prediction block corresponding to the current block.

Abstract: A deblocking filtering method, a boundary strength (bS) deriving method, and encoding/decoding method and apparatus using the methods are provided. Abstract: The present invention relates to a technique for encoding and decoding video data, and more particularly, to a method for performing inter-prediction in an effective manner. The present invention combines an inter-prediction method using an AMVP mode and an inter-prediction method using a merge mode so as to propose a method for using the same candidate. The method for encoding video data proposed by the present invention comprises the following steps: receiving mode information on an inter-prediction method of a current block; determining, on the basis of the received mode information, whether the interprediction method to be applied to the current block is an AMVP mode or a merge mode; and selecting a candidate to derive motion information of the current block, wherein the candidate is selected in a left region, top region and corner region of the current block and in the same position block as the current block, and the AMVP mode and the merge mode are applied on the basis of the selected candidate.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for encoding or decoding a video signal. The method for processing a video signal according to the present invention uses a merging mode in which prediction information on a neighbor unit is used instead of transmitting prediction information on the present unit, so as to improve coding efficiency. In this case, the number of available candidate units for merging among the units in a predetermined position is determined, and information for the merging mode is acquired on the basis of the number of the available candidate units for merging. The unit to be merged is determined using the information for the merging mode, and prediction information on the unit to be merged is acquired. The prediction value for the present unit is acquired using the prediction information on the unit to be merged, and the present unit is restored using the acquired prediction value.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an inter-layer prediction method and to an apparatus implementing the method. The method may comprise the steps of generating a first block constituted by the value obtained by up-sampling the reconstruction value of a reference block of a reference layer corresponding to the current block; generating a second block constituted by a prediction value derived from intra-prediction mode of the current block; and generating a prediction block of the current block by combining sample values of the first block and the second block.
