    摘要: An image forming system includes a host device and a terminal device connected to the host device. The host device includes a compressing unit, a code-stream transmitting unit, a control-signal receiving unit and a first controller. The code-stream transmitting unit transmits a code stream generated by the compressing unit. The control-signal receiving unit receives a control signal transmitted by the terminal device. The first controller controls the code-stream transmitting unit according to the received control signal. The terminal device includes a code-stream receiving unit, a decompressing unit, a reproduction-image outputting unit, a second controller and a control signal transmitting unit. The decompressing unit generates reproduction image data from the received code stream. The second controller restricts receiving operation of the code-stream receiving unit according to a predetermined condition. The control-signal transmitting unit transmits the control signal when the second controller restricts the receiving operation of the code-stream receiving unit.

The identification unit identifies a second pixel among an image including a first pixel and the second pixel. A pixel value of the first pixel is not to be changed. A pixel value of the second pixel is to be changed. The region division unit divides the image into regions. The pixel value change unit changes the value of the second pixel to a predetermined value through a filtering process when the second pixel identified by the identification unit is included within the regions obtained by the region division unit.

    摘要: An image processing apparatus sequentially reduces a document, while changing the reduction factor step-by-step. Next, the image processing apparatus refers to the characters that constitute the document that has been reduced with the respective reduction factors, and specifies a reduction factor at which blank regions surrounded by line portions that express each character do not disappear. When an appropriate reduction factor is specified, the image processing apparatus specifies a resolution of the characters for that reduction factor, and converts the resolution of the document data to that specified resolution. Then, the image processing apparatus performs various processing for the document data whose resolution has been converted. Thus the resolution of document data is converted such that the document is reduced with a reduction factor suitable for computer processing.
