Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a mobile station may receive, from a base station, an indication of a relaxed physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) feedback timeline associated with a dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) deployment in which a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT share a same frequency band. The mobile station may receive, from the base station, a PDSCH associated with the first RAT. The mobile station may transmit, to the base station, PDSCH HARQ-ACK feedback for the PDSCH associated with the first RAT based at least in part on the relaxed PDSCH HARQ-ACK feedback timeline associated with the DSS deployment. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine, based at least in part on two or more measurements on a channel taken at different points in time, that the channel is classified as static. The wireless communication device may perform at least one optimization based at least in part on determining that the channel is classified as static. For example, the at least one optimization may include modifying a channel state feedback procedure, reducing a periodicity associated with a measurement gap, modifying a filtering associated with measurements of the channel, reducing a threshold associated with beam switching, and/or refraining from performing at least one filtering at a radio frequency receiver of the wireless communication device. Abstract: A new radio (NR) bit prioritization procedure that may be executed by a UE and a base station is disclosed, resulting in transmission and reception of modulation symbols having prioritized bits. For example, a transmitter may encode a code block using low-density parity-check code to generate a stream of encoded bits. The transmitter may arrange the encoded bits in one or more modulation symbols according to a relative priority of the encoded bits. The highest priority bits may be located in the most significant bits of the modulation symbol, and therefore be less likely to experience errors. A receiver may receive the modulation symbols and reorder the encoded bits according to the coding scheme based on the relative priority prior to decoding the encoded bits. The prioritization of the bits within the modulation symbols may provide improved block error rates over sequential mapping of encoded bits to symbols.

The UE may perform, based at least in part on the DMRS SNR, channel estimation for a physical channel associated with a communication to determine an estimated channel. Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide for the pairing of an inter-band carrier with a time division duplex (TDD) carrier. If the paired band is a frequency division duplex (FDD) band, then base stations and mobile devices may transmit and receive additional thin control channels on FDD carriers to enable full duplex operations. If the paired band is a TDD band, then a conjugate or inverse carrier may be used such that full duplex, or a close approximation thereto, is achieved. With the introduction of a paired channel and fast control channels, rapid uplink/downlink switching may be achieved for TDD carriers efficiently and effectively. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a wireless user equipment (UE) determining a wideband channel quality indicator (CQI) in a wireless communication network. For each of a plurality of CQI hypotheses, a UE divides a bandwidth into a plurality of frequency segments and determines an average spectral efficiency (SPEF) for each of those segments. Further, for each of the plurality of CQI hypotheses, the UE determines the minimum of the average SPEFs. The UE selects the CQI hypothesis corresponding to the maximum from among these determined minimum average SPEFs, and transmits this selected CQI as a wideband CQI. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating multi-tasking and smart location selection during connected-mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) mode are disclosed herein. Example techniques disclosed herein enable a UE to perform multiple tasks during a same SSBS to reduce the number of wake-up SSBSs. For example, disclosed techniques enable a UE to perform RLM tasks and loop tracking tasks during a first SSBS and thereby reduce the number of wake-up SSBSs. In some examples, the UE may also perform the search task or the measurement task during the same first SSBS and, thereby, further reduce the number of wake-up SSBSs. Example techniques disclosed herein may also enable the UE to select which SSBS occurrences to wake-up for during the OFF duration of the CDRX cycle.

Abstract: A UE may identify a first indication associated with a first signaling to be received in a time interval and identify a second indication associated with a second signaling to be received in the time interval. The UE may select to receive and receive, in the time interval, at least one of the first signaling or the second signaling based on at least one of the first or second indications. One or more of the first and second indications may be received from a BS or determined by the UE via predefined or other means. A BS may convey indications of the first and/or second signaling. The first and second indications may be transmitted sufficiently before the signaling in an effort to allow the UE to select and tune its receiver beam in the direction of the signaling to be received.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for providing improved power efficiency during DRX wake-up are disclosed. An example method of wireless communication at a UE includes receiving a WUS from a base station while performing a DRX cycle, the WUS indicating data for transmission to the UE. The example method also includes at least one receiving a downlink reference signal or transmitting an uplink reference signal based on the WUS and prior to reception of the data, the uplink reference signal transmitted or the downlink reference signal received during an on-duration of the DRX cycle and in response to receiving the WUS. The example method also includes sending a CSI report to the base station based on the WUS and prior to the receiving of the data. The example method also includes receiving the data following the respective receiving or transmitting of the downlink reference signal or uplink reference signal.
