    Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may transmit a first physical random access channel (PRACH) transmission that includes a first random access (RA) preamble to a base station. The apparatus may determine whether to transmit to the base station a second PRACH transmission that is concurrent with the first PRACH transmission in time, wherein the second PRACH includes a second RA preamble. The apparatus may transmit, to the base station, the second PRACH transmission that includes the second RA preamble when the second PRACH transmission is determined to be transmitted. The first RA preamble and the second RA preamble may be different, and the first RA preamble and the second RA preamble may be concurrently transmitted in a same PRACH occasion or in different PRACH occasions that overlap in time.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for determining when to transmit and transmitting an aperiodic tracking reference signal (TRS). Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication. The method generally includes determining a channel condition change of a downlink channel between a first wireless device and a second wireless device. The method further includes determining whether the channel condition change satisfies a trigger condition. The method further includes triggering transmission of an aperiodic tracking reference signal when the channel condition change satisfies the trigger condition.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure implement techniques to allow a base station to transmit a “short-page” message (e.g., paging indicators) to one or more UEs. The short-page message may be decoded by all UEs in the paging cycle and identifies a subset of UEs from the full set of UEs that are paged by the base station. Upon decoding the short page transmitted by the base station, the UE may respond with a “short-page response” to the base station on a transmit beam that offers best signal quality (e.g., low signal-to-noise ratio, transmit power, etc.). Thus, in some examples, the UE, in response to receiving a short paging message, may provide feedback to the base station such that the base station may select a transmit beam for transmission for a subsequent message (and other communications).
