Abstract: A method for encoding video data comprises generating coefficients based on video data; generating coefficient vectors, wherein each of the coefficient vectors includes n of the coefficients; for each of the coefficient vectors, determining an amplitude value for the coefficient vector based on a mapping pattern, wherein for each respective allowed coefficient vector in a plurality of allowed coefficient vectors: the mapping pattern maps the respective allowed coefficient vector to a respective amplitude value in a plurality of amplitude values, and the respective amplitude value is adjacent in an n-dimensional space to at least one other amplitude value in the plurality of amplitude values that is adjacent to the respective amplitude value in a monotonic number line of the amplitude values; and modulating an analog signal based on the amplitude values for the coefficient vectors.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Beam management procedures may increase communications quality and reliability in wireless networks that support narrow directional beams and high frequencies. Some such beam management procedures utilize continuous beam measurements and adaptive beam switching to maintain a threshold link level between devices. A user equipment (UE) may transmit an indication of a capability to perform a first beam refinement procedure in response to a data transmission and using multiple receive beams. The UE may select a communication beam using a first instance of a second beam refinement procedure, and may receive a data transmission from a base station using the selected beam. Based on receiving the data transmission, the UE may perform the first beam refinement procedure and may skip a second instance of the second beam refinement procedure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to support scheduling aperiodic random access occasion resources. The aperiodic random access occasion resources may be dynamically scheduled by a primary secondary cell (PSCell) associated with a base station. When performing a random access procedure for the PSCell, the base station may initiate the random access procedure via an order transmitted to a user equipment (UE). The order may represent a unicast transmission addressed to the UE and may indicate for the UE to transmit a preamble to begin the random access procedure. The order may also indicate resources (e.g., an offset of time resources) and a preamble index for transmission of the preamble. The UE may receive the order and may transmit the preamble based on the information included in the order.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for using a same antenna port to transmit or receive reference signals on different beams. A network may determine different directional beams to use to transmit different data streams, and the network may transmit each data stream using a different directional beam. The network may also transmit reference signals with the different data streams using a same antenna port, and a user equipment (UE) may receive the reference signals with the different data streams using a same antenna port. Because a same antenna port may be used for transmitting or receiving reference signals with different data streams, the reference signals may occupy the same time and frequency resources, and the overhead of reference signal transmissions may be minimized.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first wireless communication device may select a lens, of a set of candidate lenses, and a butler matrix, of a set of candidate butler matrixes, to communicate a signal with a second wireless communication device, wherein the lens is spaced, from the butler matrix, at a distance that is at least a far field length of the lens for a frequency associated with the signal. The first wireless communication device may communicate, with the second wireless communication device, the signal via a beam of the butler matrix and the lens. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are provided for radio frequency (RF) beamforming using a plurality of differently skewed cylindrical lenses. In one example, an apparatus for wireless communication may include a plurality of cylindrical lenses, each respective cylindrical lens of the plurality of cylindrical lenses having a respective first surface and a respective second surface opposite to the respective first surface. Each respective cylindrical lens can include a power direction corresponding to a curvature of each respective first surface and a non-power direction that is orthogonal to the power direction. The apparatus can further include at least one linear antenna array disposed proximate to each respective second surface of each respective cylindrical lens, the at least one linear antenna array including a plurality of antenna array elements.

Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enable a UE to provide HARQ feedback for multiple groups of CBs based on their associated CBG and TBG. In one aspect, a UE receives an RRC configuration for a HARQ transmission, the RRC configuration including a CBG configuration and a TBG configuration. The UE determines, based on the CBG configuration, a number of CBs for each of a plurality of CBGs for HARQ feedback. The UE determines, based on the TBG configuration, a number of TBs for each of a plurality of TBGs for the HARQ feedback. The UE transmits, to a base station, the HARQ feedback, where the HARQ feedback is based on the number of CBs for each of the plurality of CBGs and the number of TBs for each of the plurality of TBGs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a control node may receive, from a movable relay node, a capability message indicating a set of operational parameters for the movable relay node. The control node may determine a location for the movable relay node based on the capability message and may transmit, to the movable relay node, a location message indicating the determined location. The movable relay node may change locations or reconfigure one or more relay devices (e.g., reconfigurable intelligent surfaces) of the movable relay node based on the location message. Accordingly, the control node may use the movable relay node to relay messages between the control node and a second node, which may increase the likelihood of successful communications between the control node and the second node.
