Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communication device, otherwise known as a user equipment (UE) may determine a beam configuration associated with a set of directional beams of a base station. The beam configuration may include a set of identifiers associated with the set of directional beams. The UE may determine beam position information associated with a coverage area of each directional beam of the set of directional beams based on the beam configuration. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may determine beam classification information associated with the coverage area of each directional beam of the set of directional beams based on the beam configuration. The UE may select a directional beam of the set of directional beams based on the beam position information and the beam classification information, and communicate with the base station using the selected directional beam.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a loss of coherence associated with the UE. The UE may perform at least one adjustment to a transmission parameter or a reception parameter based at least in part on the indication of the loss of coherence. For example, the adjustment to the transmission parameter may include adjusting a transmit power, adjusting a transmit frequency, adapting a transmission time, changing an antenna port, or a combination thereof. Additionally, or alternatively, the adjustment to the reception parameter may include refraining from joint channel estimation across a plurality of slots, adjusting a downscaling parameter or a frequency tuning associated with at least one reception antenna, refraining from blind decoding, or a combination thereof. The method also includes taking neighbor cell measurements in response to detecting the trigger.

The UE completes selection or reselection of the target cell or completes the connectivity with the target cell, based on the cell type.

Abstract: A method for wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, a first indication to disable hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for a number of instances of a multicast transport block (TB). The method also includes receiving, from the base station, a second indication identifying a value of the number of instances of the multicast TB. The method further includes receiving, from the base station, one or more instances of the multicast TB. The method still further includes determining, based on the one or more received instances, whether the multicast TB is recoverable. The method further includes selectively transmitting, to the base station, HARQ feedback after all instances of the multicast TB have been transmitted by the base station based on the determination of whether the multicast TB is recoverable.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may enable selection of a modulation order (Qm) parameter, a transport block size (TBS) parameter, a quantity of subframes in a transport block (NSF) parameter, and/or the like. For example, based at least in part on receiving a downlink control information or another factor, a user equipment may select, for example, a table of Qm, TBS, and NSF values and may select a particular set of a Qm value, a TBS value, and an NSF value from the table. In this way, the UE may use a higher order modulation and coding scheme in, for example, a narrowband Internet of Things deployment.
