    Abstract: Aspects are presented that enable a user equipment (UE) to perform simultaneous transmission of supplementary uplink carriers. The UE can transmit, to a base station, a capability message of the UE, the capability message indicating whether the UE supports simultaneous transmission of uplink signaling on supplementary uplink carriers. The UE can receive, from the base station, schedule information scheduling simultaneous transmission of a first uplink transmission on a first carrier in a first cell and a second uplink transmission on a second carrier in a second cell different from the first cell based on the capability message. The UE can transmit, to the base station, the first uplink transmission on the first carrier via the first cell simultaneous with the second uplink transmission on the second carrier via the second cell.

    Abstract: A UE may determine a number of antenna ports associated with a frequency band that includes one or more CCs. The determined number of antenna ports may be based on a plurality of UL Tx chains for the one or more CCs/frequency band. The UE may switch from a first UL Tx chain to a second UL Tx chain, at least one of which may be associated with the one or more CCs/frequency band. The number of antenna ports may correspond to a maximum number of antenna ports of an individual CC of the one or more CCs, or to a sum of antenna ports of the one or more CCs. For the latter, the number of antenna ports may be limited to an available number of UE antenna ports when the sum of antenna ports is greater than the available number of UE antenna ports.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may support two or more uplink switching periods for transmit chain switching. The UE may transmit a UE capability message indicating the UE capability to support a first uplink switching period and a second uplink switching period for transmit chain switching. The first uplink switching period and the second uplink switching period may each correspond to different switching periods associated with configuration switches between different transmit chain configurations of the UE. The UE and a base station may select an uplink switching period from among the first uplink switching period and the second uplink switching period. The UE may transmit an uplink data message to the base station after a preparation time that is based on the uplink switching period.

A receiver measures a time of arrival (ToA) of a positioning reference signal (PRS) transmission of a first PRS sequence transmitted by a first transmitter, measures a ToA of a PRS transmission of a second PRS sequence transmitted by a second transmitter, and determines an observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA) as a difference between the ToA of the PRS transmission of the first PRS sequence and the ToA of the PRS transmission of the second PRS sequence, wherein the OTDOA is less than half a maximum differential delay expected between the PRS transmission of the first PRS sequence and the PRS transmission of the second PRS sequence, and wherein a repetition duration of the first PRS sequence and the second PRS sequence is greater than 10 milliseconds (ms) and at least twice the maximum differential delay.

A user equipment (UE) may identify that the UE is in communication with a primary cell and a secondary cell in a carrier aggregation configuration, where the primary cell is a cross-carrier scheduled cell and the secondary cell is a cross-carrier scheduling cell. One carrier may be used at a time such that the may switch between the carriers based on an uplink transmission schedule. In some cases, switching may be limited by a consecutive uplink switching rule or UE capability. In some cases, the gap between two consecutive uplink carrier switching operations may be limited to a resource (e.g., slot, symbol), such that the UE may expect to perform at most one switching operation per resource. In some implementations, the gap between two consecutive uplink carrier switching operations may be limited to a duration (e. g., 14 symbols, 4 symbols), such that the UE may expect to perform at most one switching operation per a duration less than or equal to a threshold.
