    Abstract: Provided are D2D wireless communication methods and UEs therefor. In one embodiment, the D2D wireless communication method performed by a UE includes continuing D2D transmission by using a resource from a resource pool allocated for mode 2 operation when switching from mode 1 operation to mode 2 operation. In another embodiment, the D2D wireless communication method performed by a UE includes performing D2D transmission by using a resource from a resource pool allocated for mode 2 operation, wherein the resource pool is indicated by a dedicated RRC signaling transmitted by an eNB, a SIB transmitted by an eNB, a PD2DSCH transmitted by other UE(s), and/or pre-configuration, and the dedicated RRC signaling, the SIB, the PD2DSCH and the pre-configuration are in descending order in priority when determining the resource pool.

    Abstract: Provided are D2D communication methods and D2D-enabled wireless devices. The D2D communication method performed by a D2D-enabled wireless device includes transmitting signals in D2D subframes with a randomization pattern. The randomization pattern is designed based on relative subframe positions in a virtual pure D2D subframe sequence composed of multiple D2D subframes in one or more radio frames. In another embodiment, the eNB scheduling based resource allocation and the D2D-enabled wireless device selection on its own based resource allocation share a same randomization pattern design.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to selection of synchronization source among various synchronization sources which include sources determining the synchronization signal from the network such as base stations (network nodes) or user equipments which receive the synchronization signal possibly over other hops from the base station, and which further includes sources which do not determine their synchronization signal from the network. The selection of the synchronization source is performed by choosing the source with the most reliable synchronization signal based on a metric calculated for each of the sources considered. In particular, the metric is based on the type of the source, number of hops between the network and the source and/or received signal quality. After selecting the source, the timing of the device is adapted accordingly.
