Enlargement or reduction in the lateral or longitudinal directions, or skewing are similarly performed. When an operation area corresponding to each operation is designated, editing processing corresponding to the designated operation area is performed on the object of interest.

The scanning pulse is applied in synchronism with the writing pulse. The maintaining gas discharge is stopped without applying any pulse after the maintaining period passes.
