Abstract:
The present invention relates to associative complexes of water soluble and/or water dispersible polymers and polymeric fluorosurfactants, compositions and methods for modifying substrates to provide treated articles with surface protective properties including easier cleaning, increased stain and/or soil repellency, and increased resistance to bio-fouling and environmental contamination.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to cleaning compositions containing C8-C10 alkylpolyglucosides which have low filming and streaking when combined with C2-C4 alcohols. The cleaning compositions can optionally comprise dyes, builders, fatty acids, fragrances, colorants, glycerol, anti-foaming agents, and preservatives.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a method for encapsulating solid animal waste with animal litter to eliminate the odor that emanates from the waste material. An additional benefit is that encapsulation hides the solid waste from view. The encapsulated waste resembles a urine clump in the litter box. Waste-encapsulating actives are incorporated in the litter composition to provide this benefit.
Abstract:
A cleaning composition with a limited number of natural ingredients contains alkyl polyglucoside, ethanol, glycerol, and an essential oil containing lemon oil or d-limonene. The cleaning composition optionally has a small amount of buffer, such as a natural inorganic buffer. The cleaning composition can be used to clean hard surfaces and cleans as well or better than commercial compositions containing synthetically derived cleaning agents.
Abstract:
Aqueous dispersions of silicone oils are prepared without the need for surfactants, solvents, hydrotropes or emulsifiers by employing water soluble and/or water dispersible polymers providing inventive compositions which exhibit a rheological Critical Strain value greater than zero and less than about 0.5. Disclosed according to the present invention are compositions and methods of use of the aqueous dispersions of silicone fluids for cleaning, preserving, protecting, and otherwise treating a variety of surfaces, including household surfaces, such as floors, counter tops, furniture, walls, and automotive surfaces, such as tires, rubber, vinyl, upholstery, fabric, plastic and general elastomer surfaces.
Abstract:
A litter composition comprising a substantially particulate primary absorbent material and a binding agent, the binding agent comprising approximately 0.01%-40% of the litter composition. In one embodiment, the primary absorbent material comprises silica gel and the binding agent comprises a galactomannan. In additional embodiments, the litter composition also includes at least one of the following components: fixing agent, colorant agent, anti-bacterial agent, fragrance and/or supplemental absorbent material.
Abstract:
A filtering device for a gravity-flow liquid treatment system includes a first filter component that can be either exposed or adjacent to a substantially transparent region in at least a portion of a filter housing. The first filter component is capable of providing a visual indication of exposure to at least one contaminant. The contaminants for which the first filter component can indicate exposure include particles, inorganic, and organic contamination. Particle contamination is indicated by a change in color of the first filter component through particle collection. Inorganic and organic contaminants are indicated by reaction with at least one agent capable of undergoing a color-change reaction in response to at least one contaminant. Water treatment systems and filtration devices that include at least one agent capable of undergoing a color-change reaction and thus give a visual indication of exposure to at least one contaminant for use in both gravity-driven and pressure-driven environments are also described.
