Abstract:
A surfactant composition includes greater than 75 wt. % N-acyl aminoalkane sulfonate of formula (I). The surfactant composition is substantially free of solvent and NaCl. A process for preparation of a mixture comprising a N-acyl aminoalkane sulfonate surfactant includes combining (a) an aminoalkane sulfonic acid of formula (II) or (b) an anhydrous alkali salt of an aminoalkane sulfonic acid of formula (II), a waterless base, and a fatty alkyl ester of formula (III) to form the mixture including N-acyl aminoalkane sulfonate of formula (I). The process further includes increasing the temperature of the mixture to 190° C. or less, preferably 170° C. or less, more preferably 160° C. or less to form a reaction mixture; and continuously removing alkyl alcohol from the reaction mixture.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a mousse composition comprising: a) a base composition comprising: (i) from 0.0001 to 5 wt. % of a lactam; (ii) from 0.1 to 10 wt. % of an alcohol; and, b) a propellant; and to the use of a combination of a lactam with an alcohol, in a mousse composition to collapse the resulting mousse foam quicker; and to the use of a combination of a lactam with an alcohol, in a mousse composition to make the resulting mousse foam easier to rinse.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A mixture of ethanol and lactate esters have enhanced cleaning properties for food and biological processing applications and this mixture retains bacteriostatic properties during the cleaning process as well as in the used cleaning solutions after rinsing and dilution with water.
Abstract:
The use of an alcohol in a liquid cleaning composition including surfactant, for cleaning hydrophobic stains from surfaces and/or for providing suds longevity, wherein the alcohol is selected from the group consisting of: C4-C6 linear mono-alcohols, branched C4-C10 mono-alcohols having one or more C1-C4 branching groups, alkyl mono-glycerols, and mixtures thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to compositions containing an anionic surfactant selected from the group consisting of alkyl sulfates, alkoxylated alkyl sulfates, and mixtures thereof, and a solvent, particularly a solvent comprising one or more diols.

Abstract:
An aqueous liquid composition, which may be used as a light duty hand dishwashing composition, comprising (i) at least one surfactant, (ii) at least one polyethylene oxide-polypropylene oxide block copolymer which is present in an amount of at least 0.4 weight % based on the weight of the composition, (iii) ethanol which is present in an amount of from 0.5 to 5 weight % based on the weight of the composition, and (iv) water. The mixture of in the polyethylene oxide-polypropylene oxide block copolymer and ethanol can inhibit or prevent gelling of the composition at a temperature below 0 C.
Abstract:
A cleaning solution is provided. The cleaning solution contains denatured alcohol, deionized water, and an organic surfactant mixture consisting of water, 2-butoxyethanol, sodium citrate, ethoxylated alcohol, and tetrapotassium pyrophosphate. The present invention is intended for use with granite, marble, or other shiny surfaces. The solution utilizes a minimal amount of surfactants and highly distilled alcohols that can safely clean and sterilize these surfaces, without leaving unpleasant residues behind.
Abstract:
In a method for making a tris-(2-hydroxyethyl)-methylammonium methylsulfate fatty acid ester by quaternizing a tris-(2-hydroxyethyl)-amine fatty acid ester with dimethylsulfate the quaternizing is carried out in the presence of a solid acid scavenger. The method can provide a fabric softener active composition, comprising from 65 to 98% by weight of at least one tris-(2-hydroxyethyl)-methylammonium methylsulfate fatty acid ester, the corresponding non-quaternized tris-(2-hydroxyethyl)-amine fatty acid esters in amounts providing a total amine number of the composition of from 2 to less than 7 mg KOH/g, and from 1 to 1500 ppm methanol.
