Abstract:
The need for a container and detergent composition which exhibit good cleaning, including on greasy soils, and good surface shine, while also maintaining spray visibility on the treated hard surface, is met by formulating an aqueous detergent composition using a low level of surfactant system, an aminoalcohol solvent, and a glycol ether solvent, at the specified ratios.
Abstract:
The use of an alcohol in a liquid cleaning composition including surfactant, for cleaning hydrophobic stains from surfaces and/or for providing suds longevity, wherein the alcohol is selected from the group consisting of: C4-C6 linear mono-alcohols, branched C4-C10 mono-alcohols having one or more C1-C4 branching groups, alkyl mono-glycerols, and mixtures thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to compositions containing an anionic surfactant selected from the group consisting of alkyl sulfates, alkoxylated alkyl sulfates, and mixtures thereof, and a solvent, particularly a solvent comprising one or more diols.
Abstract:
The invention provides a composition comprising a mixture of pentadecanols wherein at least about 60 wt % of the mixture is linear pentadecanol and at least about 10 wt % of the mixture is branched pentadecanols wherein the branched pentadecanols have branching on the second carbon atom. The mixture of pentadecanols may be converted to one or more derivatives, and these derivatives may be used in laundry detergents, cleaning products or as an agricultural adjuvant, an emulsifying agent, a lubricant additive, a pour point depressant, or a personal care ingredient.

Abstract:
A cleaning solution is provided. The cleaning solution contains denatured alcohol, deionized water, and an organic surfactant mixture consisting of water, 2-butoxyethanol, sodium citrate, ethoxylated alcohol, and tetrapotassium pyrophosphate. The present invention is intended for use with granite, marble, or other shiny surfaces. The solution utilizes a minimal amount of surfactants and highly distilled alcohols that can safely clean and sterilize these surfaces, without leaving unpleasant residues behind.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing 4-cyclohexyl-2-methyl-2-butanol. The process comprises the following steps: a) reaction of styrene with isopropanol at elevated temperature to obtain 4-phenyl-2-methyl-2-butanol, and b) heterogeneously catalyzed hydrogenation of 4-phenyl-2-methyl-2-butanol over a catalyst suitable for ring hydrogenation of aromatics.
Abstract:
An aqueous-based cleaning composition including a water-insoluble builder component and a method of providing both such builder component and such cleaning composition in the absence of heat to provide a cleaning composition which is phase stable at room temperature without loss of cleaning efficacy. The builder component is composed of a C10-C16 linear fatty monohydric alcohol, e.g., tetradecanol, and an alcohol carrier. The alcohol carrier is preferably a C1-C4 monohydric alcohol. An alkyl glucoside is preferably also included in the cleaning composition to enhance the provision of the composition as a clear solution, and to promote combination of hydrophobic and hydrophilic materials upon the mixing of components to provide the cleaning composition.
Abstract:
A multi-purpose cleaning compound comprising about 4.50% to about 16.50% by volume isopropyl alcohol; about 4.50% to about 16.50% by volume vinegar; about 2.00% and about 8.50% by volume ammonia; about 2.00% by volume of at least one pre-selected surfactant; between about 0.009% and about 0.05% by volume rosemary oil; and about 56.50% and about 86.90% by volume water.
