The fluid medium may be air with the impacting performed by a vacuum workholder (26) consisting of an arm (30) raised and lowered by pneumatic cylinders (32), the arm supporting a plurality of vacuum cups (28) engaging the workpiece (42) for subsequent transportation.

    摘要: In one embodiment, a glass pane lifter apparatus includes a hollow handle which includes an access opening, an elbow member that includes a first elbow end that connects to the access opening of the hollow handle, and a suction cup unit that is connected to the elbow member. The suction cup includes a suction release tab. The elbow member is a right-angled elbow. The hollow handle includes a finger reception contoured region. A chisel member is connected to the hollow handle. The chisel member projects from the hollow handle at an end of the hollow handle opposite to the access opening. A container of lubricant retainable inside the hollow handle. In addition, a glass cutter is retainable inside the hollow handle. The glass pane lifter apparatus and the contained glass cutter and/or container of lubricant provide a kit for maintenance of fire extinguishers retained in fire extinguisher enclosures that include glass panes. In another embodiment, the hollow handle and the elbow member are combined in a unitary handle/elbow unit. The access opening is located on the handle/elbow unit at an end opposite to the suction cup unit. A chisel member and a belt clip assembly are connected to the handle/elbow unit by means of a cap member screwed onto the handle/elbow unit for covering the access opening. An absorbent pad assembly is attached to the handle/elbow unit at an end opposite to the access opening.

    摘要: A device that enables a person positioned in a body of water to hold onto the exterior hull surface of a watercraft. A handle has a straight central part and a pair of parallel arms that are perpendicular to the central part and which extend from opposite ends of the central part in a common direction. Each of the parallel arms has a distal free end that engages a suction cup on its convex side. An O-ring is integrally formed with each suction cup on its concave side, and is positioned on the outermost peripheral edge of its associated suction cup. The O-ring increases the volumetric capacity of the suction cup and therefore increases the strength of the vacuum that holds the suction cup to the watercraft.

    摘要: For replacement of automotive windshields by aftermarket installers, two mirror image grips have a curved tubular handle which is welded to a sheet metal base with two legs which are at an obtuse angle to one another. The curved handle allows smooth repositioning of an installer's hands as the large windshield is shifted into position on the automobile; the obtuse angle base provides sufficient clearance for the full range of hand positions. Each leg of the sheet metal base is positioned to abut against an installer's hand during different stages of windshield lifting, i.e. when the windshield is vertical, and when it is inverted and horizontal. The grips are used to lift and position a windshield with a bead of urethane thereon into the pinch weld of the automobile.

    摘要: A suction cup assembly is provided for securing a utilization device to a surface. The suction cup assembly includes a suction cup and a core member. The core member has a generally cylindrical outer surface, and is secured to the suction cup. The assembly also has a cone member which has an outer periphery generally co-extensive with the outer portion of the suction cup, and which has a generally cylindrical inner opening closely enclosing the cylindrical outer surface of the core member. The cone member and the core member constitute a pair of mating members. The assembly further includes a cam member for axially shifting the core member outward relative to the cone member by pulling the center of the suction cup away from a surface to which the suction cup may be adhered. The cam member has generally cylindrical camming surfaces, and is mounted onto and closely engages either the core member or a camming flange on the cone member, depending on the embodiment.
