    摘要: The manufacture and control of payment cards used in consumer financial transactions circulates a population of payments cards with user identification and account access codes. Each use of an individual card produces a variation of its user access code according to an encryption program seeded with encryption keys or initialization vectors. A portion of the magnetic stripe is made dynamic with a Q-Chip magnetic MEMS device. The job of personalizing payment cards with the user identification and account access codes is outsourced to a personalization company. The encryption keys and initialization vectors are kept private from the personalization company by using the encryption program to generate tables of computed results. Respective ones of the tables of computed results are sent for loading by the personalization company into new members of the population of payments cards. New payment cards are manufactured and distributed that include and operate with the tables of computed results.

The interface device includes control logic configured to: determine whether the first portable device is valid for image synchronization using information provided by the host; and if it is determined that the first portable device is valid for image synchronization, record an image of the first portable device, determine whether the second portable device is valid for image synchronization, and download an image of the first portable device to the second portable device if it is determined that the second portable device is valid for image synchronization. The interface device further includes control logic configured to: determine whether the second portable device is valid for image replacement using information provided by the host, and if it is determined that the second portable device is valid for image replacement, retrieve an image of the first portable device and download the retrieved image to the second portable device. The interface device also includes control logic configured to: determine whether the second portable device includes additional information that is not included in the image of the first portable device, and if it is determined that the second portable device includes the additional information, concatenate the additional information with the image of the first portable device, and download the concatenated additional information and image of the first portable device onto the second portable device. The interface device concatenates the additional information and the image of the first portable device based on a set of conflict resolution rules.

    摘要: It is described a method for certifying data containing a sequence of transactions comprising the following steps: finding a new transaction added to the sequence; computing a certification code for the new transaction taking into consideration all data preceding the transaction in the preserved order; saving the computed certification codes. In particular, each transaction will carry a certification code and a sequence number that uniquely identify all the data received up to the transaction. By saving the progressive transaction count and the relative certification code it become possible, at a later time, to verify the integrity of the whole data.The described certification method allows the use of electronic certification in the accounting world.

The method includes moving a charge payment device into the retail location and presenting the charge payment device at a merchant point of sale located at the retail location for performing the charge payment transaction. A transaction record of the charge payment transaction is stored in a transaction log within the charge payment device. A report record of the charge payment transaction is transmitted from the merchant point of sale to a settlement system and added to an electronic payments report. The transaction log is electronically correlated with the electronic payments report, checking for discrepancies between the transaction log and the electronic payments report.

    摘要: A user can customize use of a payment card, which can be an electronic card, by selecting a customization variable for any given transaction. The customization variable involves at least one of the following steps: (1) customizing generation of a one-time card number; (2) customizing a user identifier; or (3) inclusion of a customization variable with information transmitted to a verification agency for validation of the given use. Multiple payment card transactions can be processed differently depending upon which customization variable is chosen for a given transaction. Different customization variables can be used for different accounts, different types of transactions, or to classify the transactions. A user can receive one bill, or multiple bills. Different levels of privacy can be accorded to transactions that use different customization variables. A user may pay the issuer for increased security, or the user may be paid by the issuer to allow transaction data to be distributed to third parties.

    摘要: A secure system and method for the transfer of value units between a plurality of gambling cards (CJ) and a plurality of gambling machines (200, 300). Each machine has a transcriber (210, 310) to debit value units of the gambling cards. The machines are connected via a secure network (123) to a central processing unit (1). Each gambling card (CJ1) stores data (S, Op1, Op2, Opx, Id, S) unique to the card and the use of that card in gambling. The central processing unit (1, BD) stores the same data as what is in the cards. The cards' and the CPU's data are maintained in parallel as the gambling progresses, and may include data from previous sessions. A monitor (BD) checks that the CPU (1, BD) data and the card (CJ1) data correspond. Thus the integrity of this smart card gambling is enhanced.
