摘要： A hitch apparatus for connection between a tractor and a trailing implement such as a mower includes a hitch arm at one end of the apparatus extending forwardly and pivotal so as to extend either inwardly or outwardly thus offsetting the apparatus across the rear of the tractor. The apparatus includes the drawbar hitch at the rear spaced across from the hitch arm for attachment to the mower so that the mower is offset to one side of the tractor. Two gear boxes and a drive shaft provide connection from the PTO of the tractor to the drive input of the mower. The offset hitch apparatus allows the mower to run in a ditch while the tractor remains on level ground.

摘要： The felling head is operatively installed at the front end of a tractor vehicle, and used for debrushing a brush covered terrain. It comprises a rigid framework, from which downwardly depends a pair of flat, spaced-apart elongated skates that slidingly rest on the ground and support the framework over ground. A pair of discoid saw blades are rotatably supported by the frame, with a ground clearance of a few inches relative to the plane of the skates. The framework is hingedly attached to the tractor vehicle by of a pair of linked parallel parallelograms forced into a common pivotal displacement, each having four rigid bars hingedly attached to one another so as to form a parallelogram configuration. A pair of hydraulic cylinders act on the parallelograms and on the frame, so as to allow vertical linear movement of the frame and a distinct vertical pivotal movement thereof. Thus, when the tractor vehicle pushes the felling head over an uneven ground surface, the elongated skates will be forced under the load of the framework to flatly engage the ground surface, and concurrently the saw blades will be forced to remain parallel to the ground surface with a ground clearance. The felling head further comprises a vertical pivotal axle, to horizontally pivot the saw blades. Outwardly frontwardly divergent arms are provided to convergently bias incoming brush towards the central saw blades.

摘要： A brush cutting apparatus is mounted on an articulated boom assembly wherein the second boom member carries a pivot axis oriented orthogonally to the pivotal connections of the first and second boom members allowing generally vertical movement of the boom assembly. The articulated boom assembly preferably mounts a brush cutting head at the distal end of the second boom member to provide a greater range of flexibility and versatility in the operation of the brush cutting head. The orthogonal pivot axis is defined by a hydraulic rotary actuator carried in the central portion of the second boom member and enables the brush cutting head to be moved through an arcuate path generally parallel to the orientation of the second boom member as defined through a pivotal movement of the second boom member relative to the first boom member. The arcuate scything motion allows the cutting head to cover a greater range of ground for each pass of the prime mover while staying generally parallel to the surface of the ground. Furthermore, the hydraulic rotary actuator is operable to provide a bidirectional breakaway mechanism that is operable irrespective of which side of the prime mover the cutting head is operated.

In one disclosed embodiment, the mower has a main frame which is detachably connected to the rear mount of a tractor, swing frames pivotally connected to the main frame for movement into and out of engagement with the side mounts of the tractor, means detachably locking the swing frames in engagement with the side mounts, and mowing heads mounted on the frames to the sides and rear of the tractor. In another disclosed embodiment, the mower includes a frame adapted for connection to a towing vehicle, a pair of side decks positioned on opposite sides of the frame, a center deck positioned between the side decks, a pair of rear decks positioned to the rear of and between the side decks and the center deck. Ground engaging wheels at the front and rear of each deck support the decks, with the wheels at the rear of the side decks and the center deck being aligned with the wheels at the front of the rear decks, and means pivotally mounting the decks to the frame so that the decks can follow the contour of the ground.
