摘要： A dispenser comprising a first barrier, and a second barrier that is spaced apart from the first barrier. These two barriers define a first item-receiving space between the barriers, and the second barrier at least partially defines a second item-receiving space behind the second barrier. The first barrier is adapted to move between: (A) a first- barrier-closed position in which the first barrier restricts access to the first item-receiving space, and (B) a first-barrier-open position in which the first barrier permits access to the first item-receiving space. Similarly, the second barrier is adapted to move between: (A) a second-barrier-closed position in which the second barrier restricts access to the second item-receiving space, and (B) a second-barrier-open position in which the second barrier permits access to the second item-receiving space. The dispenser may comprise a third barrier, and the first, second, and third barriers may be positioned in a substantially horizontal array.

The part dispenser assembly includes a part dispensing container having sides, an open top, and a bottom having an opening therein for dispensing parts, the part dispensing container adapted to receive the carton containing parts; a member retainer; a flexible part retainer; and a member adapted to be threaded through the opening in the parts, the top of the member adapted to be attached to the member retainer and the bottom of the member adapted to be attached to the flexible part retainer, wherein the flexible part retainer is adapted to retain the parts in the part dispensing container and wherein the parts are dispensed by deforming the flexible part retainer so that it passes through the opening in the parts. The invention also involves a method of dispensing parts.

摘要： A vending machine includes a storage/display region, a dispensing chamber including a product access opening, and an anti-pilfer device that prevents unauthorized removal of products from the storage/display region through the product access opening. A delivery door is provided which can be shifted from a closed position to an open position to enable the removal of products from the dispensing chamber. The anti-pilfer device includes a plate coupled to a lower portion of the delivery door. When the delivery door is moved from the closed position, the anti-pilfer plate shifts, over a guide element, into a position that prevents products from being withdrawn from the storage/display area. Preferably, the storage/display region and dispensing chamber are separated by a product door, with the anti-pilfer plate preventing the product door from opening when the delivery door is shifted from the closed position.

摘要： A pill delivery and packing apparatus having a feeder tube for delivering pills is provided. The feeder tube has a helical delivery chute that extends between an inlet side and an exit side of the tube. The delivery chute has a helical inner contour and a rectangular cross section that corresponds to the shape of the pills. The helical delivery chute is configured such that each of the pills rotates while proceeding through the delivery chute, whereby such rotation of the pills prevents jamming of the pills in the delivery chute. Independently extendable pins are used to alternately block and open the delivery chute, thus providing an escapement mechanism for dispensing pills. The tube also has an outer surface defining a helical outer contour that guides a rotatable tray on which pills are disposed. Associated apparatuses and methods are also provided.

摘要： A timed cigarette dispenser for limiting the number of cigarettes available to a smoker to assist the smoker in reducing the number of cigarettes smoked over an interval of time, and/or to assist the smoker in quitting smoking. The dispenser includes a housing having a storage chamber therein for containing a quantity of cigarettes, and a solenoid operative to extend a plunger to engage a single cigarette and eject it partially from the housing where it may be grasped and withdrawn. An electronic timing circuit is connected with the dispensing solenoid to energize the solenoid upon the expiration of predetermined time intervals. A cover is latched closed over the storage compartment to prevent access to the storage compartment except when the storage compartment is empty. When the storage compartment is empty, a latch solenoid is automatically energized to disengage the latch and permit the cover to be opened. The device includes a liquid crystal display for displaying messages, and a keypad for entering different messages and/or setting different time intervals on the timer.
