Abstract:
A self-relieving curb inlet filter, for intercepting debris, to be positioned in the opening of conventional pre-cast and cast-in-place curb inlets, for reducing water pollution in lakes, rivers, streams, and oceans. The present invention is one-piece molded apparatus with screened grid configuration of vertical and horizontal members spaced to allow liquids and small debris to go into the storm sewer system while intercepting large sized debris. The present invention permits accumulated debris collected to be released into the storm sewer system, usually during heavy rainfall events, when flow/debris pressure, against the present invention, increases sufficiently to move/open the present invention. The present invention moves/returns to the original position when flow/debris accumulation pressure decreases from the present invention.
Abstract:
The customer performs a search or otherwise defines selected data maintained by the information provider. Once the selected data is identified, the information provider maintains the requested data, typically by maintaining pointers identiying the data, but delays delivery of the requested data until the scheduled delivery time, such as a particular day and time requested by the customer or a non-peak period as determined by the information provider. When the information provider determines that delivery is appropriate, it makes a request for a suppressed ringing connection to a switching system. The switching system responds to the request for connection by creating a suppressed ringing connection where a silent alert tone or digital alert signal is transmitted to the customer premise equipment. The customer premise equipment includes a receiving system that receives one or more tones from the switching system over the suppressed ringing connection and becomes active. Upon being activated, the receiving system causes the customer's computer or portions of the computer such as a particular memory to power-up such that the computer can receive the data from the information provider.

Abstract:
The compositions of this invention comprise uncrosslinked reaction mixtures comprising (1) at least one organic monomer, oligomer or polymer comprising a multiplicity of organic, electrophilic substituents, and (2) at least one metal-containing polymer comprising a metal-nitrogen polymer.Preferred compositions of this invention comprise reaction mixtures comprising (1) at least one organic monomer, oligomer or polymer comprising a multiplicity of organic, electrophilic substituents, and (2) at least one of: silicon-nitrogen polymers, aluminum-nitrogen polymers and boron-nitrogen and polymer combinations thereof comprising a multiplicity of sequentially bonded repeat units the compositions comprising the reaction products of the reaction mixtures, and the compositions obtained by crosslinking the reaction products of the reaction mixtures. The crosslinking may be effected through at least one of thermal-based, radiation-based free radical-based or ionic-based crosslinking mechanisms. Furthermore, the reaction mixtures, the composition comprising the reaction products and the crosslinked composition may further comprise at least one filler or reinforcement. The composition may be molded or shaped by various techniques into numerous useful articles. Furthermore, the compositions may be applied as coatings by various techniques onto numerous articles to enhance the articles usefulness.
Abstract:
A network application for automatically formatting and printing documents to be used as planning manuals by company personnel to produce quality products designed to satisfy customer preferences. Output documents can also be used as educational manuals and for dispersing among organizational personnel common information for integrated strategic planning and decision making for engineering and marketing teams. Facilitated collaborative work sessions among work groups inputting and sharing comments and ideas provide starting data to the network application.
Abstract:
Novel carbonyl hydrolase mutants derived from the amino acid sequence of naturally-occurring or recombinant non-human carbonyl hydrolases and DNA sequences encoding the same. The mutant carbonyl hydrolases, in general, are obtained by in vitro modification of a precursor DNA sequence encoding the naturally-occurring or recombinant carbonyl hydrolase to encode the substitution, insertion or deletion of one or more amino acids in the amino acid sequence of a precursor carbonyl hydrolase. Such mutants have one or more properties which are different than the same property of the precursor hydrolase.
Abstract:
A motion sensor is mounted within a camera, and measures motion data such as translation, rotation, and zoom. The motion data is then associated with the video frame data captured by the camera. In some embodiments, the motion data is used to remove jitter in the frame data due to camera movement, and in some embodiments, the motion data is used to remove global motion from frame data before compression. Since the motion data is kept with the video frame data, the motion data is available during decompression of the video frames.
Abstract:
A partially open-ended carton contains two clips of interleaved tissues and a centrally located perforated opening means for splitting the carton into two halves. Each half serves to store the unused clip until it is used.
Abstract:
A grinding apparatus for thoroughly crushing, particulating and/or fragmenting materials that are firm or soft. The apparatus is particularly suitable for grinding plant leaf tissue. The grinding apparatus includes a rotatable reamer and a cup for receiving the reamer. The reamer has teeth that form a grinding surface, these teeth extending radially outward from a center point of the grinding surface. A second set of teeth form the inner bottom surface of the cup and provide another grinding surface. The cup teeth correspond to the reamer teeth so as to mesh therewith and produce a camming action during rotation of the reamer.
Abstract:
A quick-disconnect locking system for interconnecting sections of a rigid yoke structure comprises a female truncated cone adapted to be connected at its narrow end to one section of a two-piece yoke assembly, and a male truncated cone which is nestable within the female cone and is adapted to be connected at its larger end to the other section of the yoke. When locked, the male and female cones are closely nested and are locked together by a plurality of shear keys which project radially out of the larger end of the male cone into a continuous channel on the inner face of a locking ring attached to the larger end of the female cone. To unlock the assembly, the shear keys are withdrawn radially into the male cone, thus permitting the cone structures to be disengaged. For facilitating nesting of the cones, the smaller end of the male cone is provided with retractable means which engages the female cone and draws the two cones into a closely nested position. Separation of the cones is also aided by the same mechanism which is operated in a reverse direction to push the cones apart.
