Abstract: It is common for the organizers of endurance sports to provide aid stations along the route where participants may receive water to prevent dehydration. To reduce waste at these events, organizers encourage ‘cupless’ races that requiring participants to carry their own vessels. The present invention comprises a hat with a visor, such as a baseball style cap, with a collapsible drinking vessel integrated into the visor. During the course of the race, a runner may encounter a water stop and require a vessel to contain the liquid for immediate consumption. At such time the runner can simply remove their hat and configure the vessel to the open position to receive the liquid. Post-consumption the vessel is configured back to the closed position and becomes seamlessly integrated into the visor with no negative effects upon the runner.

Abstract: A thermal reservoir for storing heat energy that can convert water to steam and thus power steam driven machines and vehicles is enclosed. The thermal reservoir converts electrical energy to heat energy using electrical resistance heating coils and the heat energy is stored with a thermal storage substance consisting primarily of lithium fluoride. Heat loss is minimized with a specially designed insulation layer that surrounds the thermal storage compartment. The thermal reservoir is charged and discharged via a heat exchanging system comprised of nested cylinders and a plurality of heat conducting fins that innervate the thermal storage compartment.

Abstract: Particles are separated from a source viscoplastic fluid by flowing streams of the viscoplastic fluid and a destination fluid in parallel streamed relationship inside a rotating cylindrical annulus by using baffles to introduce each fluid independently at an inlet lower end of the annulus and for separating the upper streams consisting of an un-yielded source and destination flow proximate the radially innermost side of the annulus, a bulk axial flow in a more central region and a yielded layer destination flow adjacent the radial outermost side of the annulus which contains the particles that have separated.
