    Abstract: A notebook computer is provided. The notebook computer includes a device body, a cover and a media unit. The device body includes a first body housing and a second body housing, wherein the second body housing pivots on the first body housing. The cover pivots on the first body housing and is slidably connected to the second body housing. When the cover is rotated from a folded state to an unfolded state relative to the device body, the second body housing is pushed to rotate from the first housing orientation to the second housing orientation relative to the first body housing. The media unit pivots on the first body housing and is slidably connected to the second body housing.

    Abstract: Fan modules and motors are disclosed. The fan motor includes a bearing holder having a first bearing holder end and a second bearing holder end. The bearing holder has a first section with a first diameter that is smaller than diameters of the first bearing holder end and the second bearing holder end. The motor further includes a first bearing retained by the bearing holder at the first bearing holder end, and a second bearing retained by the bearing holder at the second bearing holder end. The motor further includes a shaft retained by the first bearing and the second bearing, and a stator surrounding the first section of the bearing holder.

    Abstract: A system having a rack, an input manifold, an output manifold, and a drain manifold is installed. The rack is configured to support a computing device. The input manifold, the output manifold, and the drain manifold are each configured to be fluidly coupled to the housing. When the computing device is in a first position relative to the rack, the input manifold and the output manifold are fluidly coupled to the housing and the drain manifold is disconnected from the housing. When the computing device is in a second position relative to the rack, the input manifold and the output manifold are disconnected from the housing and the drain manifold is fluidly coupled to the housing. When the computing device is in a third position relative to the rack, the input manifold, the output manifold, and the drain manifold are disconnected from the housing.

    Abstract: An inspection device is provided, including a base, a circuit assembly, an electrocardiogram sensor, a diaphragm, an annular member, and a positioning member. The base has a top surface, a bottom surface, a guiding portion, an opening, and an accommodating space. The guiding portion is formed on the top surface, the opening is formed on the bottom surface, and the accommodating space is formed between the top surface and the bottom surface. The electrocardiogram sensor is disposed on the bottom surface and electrically connected to the circuit assembly. The diaphragm covers the opening.     Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for early detection of fan failure in a computing device, such as a server. A management device located in the computing device or remote from the computing device can receive information about the fan duty and use the fan duty information to determine a safe fan speed below which future or imminent fan failure can be inferred. The management device can receive the current speed of the fan and compare it with the safe fan speed to determine if the fan is likely to fail, in which case the management device can direct the computing device to perform mitigation action and/or a maintenance warning can be sent. The maintenance warning can result in replacement of the failing or soon-to-fail fan.

    Abstract: A system and method for booting a computer system is disclosed. Code is loaded from a minor BIOS image stored on an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) to a cache of a central processing unit. The central processing unit executes the code from the minor BIOS image to initialize a system memory. A major BIOS image is accessed from a remote site via a controller. Code from the major BIOS image is loaded to the system memory. The code from the major BIOS image is executed via the central processing unit to boot an operating system.

    Abstract: A method for converting a computing device from a first configuration to a second configuration is provided. A power supply unit of the computing device is moved from a first location at a second end of the computing device to a second location at a first end of the computing device. The power supply unit is rotated such that a power interface of the power supply unit is visible from the first end of the computing device. A set of fans of the computing device is rotated such that airflow direction of the set of fans matches an airflow direction of the power supply unit at the second location. Converting the computing device from the first configuration to the second configuration can allow communication ports to be accessed from a front end or from a rear end of the computing device.
