A centrifugal blower assembly includes a housing having an inner surface and an outer surface. The inner surface of the housing defines in part an interior space. The centrifugal blower also includes a first portion of texture applied to at least a first portion of at least one of the inner surface and the outer surface of the housing. The first portion of texture has a first height based at least in part on a local boundary layer height of an airflow moving across at least one of the inner surface and the outer surface respectively. The first portion of texture is configured to generate a turbulent flow within the airflow moving across the first portion of texture.

A motor assembly coupled to an external alternating voltage input, the motor assembly comprising a motor including a stator and a rotor rotatable about a longitudinal axis. The motor assembly further includes a circuit assembly, the circuit assembly having a state detector operable to detect the state of the external alternating voltage input and a control unit operable to control the motor based on the state of the external alternating voltage input detected by the state detector. A quick-release automatic tensioning motor base for supporting a motor. The motor is operably coupled to a device to be driven via a drive belt. The motor base includes base brackets and at least one guide rail fixedly coupled between the base brackets. A platform assembly, which supports the motor, is slidably coupled to the guide rail. A spring assembly is selectively coupled between the base brackets and fixedly coupled to the platform assembly. The spring assembly applies a biasing force to the platform assembly to maintain a belt tension along the drive belt. A quick-release assembly selectively engages the spring assembly and base brackets to permit movement of the quick-release assembly between a fastened position and a released position. A spring compression retention assembly is operably coupled to the spring assembly to maintain spring compression on the spring assembly even when the quick-release assembly is in the released position.

An energy recovery apparatus for use in a refrigeration system, comprises an intake port, a nozzle, a turbine and a discharge port. The intake port is adapted to be in fluid communication with a condenser of a refrigeration system. The nozzle is configured to expand refrigerant discharged from the condenser and increase velocity of the refrigerant as it passes through the nozzle. The turbine is positioned relative to the nozzle and configured to be driven by refrigerant discharged from the nozzle. The discharge port is downstream of the turbine and is configured to be in fluid communication with an evaporator of the refrigeration system.

An air moving system including an electric motor, a load coupled to the electric motor, and a motor drive controller coupled to the electric motor is provided. A DC voltage generated from an AC input voltage provided to the electric motor tends towards zero at about twice a frequency of the AC input voltage. The motor drive controller includes an adjustment control module configured to receive a measurement of an instantaneous motor current value for the electric motor, determine a flux component value based on the instantaneous motor current value, and determine, based at least in part on the flux component value and a flux component demand value, an adjusted flux component demand value that causes the motor drive controller to adjust an operation such that an average flux component value based on the flux component value is substantially similar to the flux component demand value.

Methods and systems are described for providing power factor correction for high-power loads using two interleaved power factor correction stages. Each power factor correction stage includes a controllable switch that is operated to control the phasing of each power factor correction stage. The phasing of output current from the second power factor correction stage is shifted 180 degree relative to the output current from the first power factor correction stage.
