Abstract:
Methods of manufacturing a heater are provided that generally include forming a laminate having a dielectric layer, a first double-sided adhesive dielectric layer, and a conductive layer. Next, a circuit pattern is created into the conductive layer, and then the circuit pattern is covered with a second double-sided adhesive dielectric layer. The second double-sided adhesive dielectric layer is covered with a sacrificial layer, and then the heater is formed, the heater comprising the dielectric layer, the first double-sided adhesive dielectric layer, the conductive layer, and the second double-sided adhesive dielectric layer. Subsequently, the sacrificial layer is removed.
Abstract:
A footwear with refractive internal illumination has a footwear, a translucent body, an illumination system and a liner. The footwear has a sole section and an upper. The upper has an opaque light refracting section. The illumination system has a power source and at least one light source. The at least one light source is electrically connected to the power source. A light wavelength of light emitted from the at least one light source is approximate to a light wavelength of light emitted through the opaque light refracting section. The upper is connected to the sole section. The at least one light source is connected to the translucent body. The translucent body is housed in between the liner and the opaque light refracting section.
Abstract:
An undulatory structure and methods for the fabrication and use thereof. The undulatory structure includes a buckled sheet and one or more work input elements for deforming the buckled sheet in an undulating manner wherein each point in a series of points on a sinuously-shaped profile of the buckled sheet travels at least partially along a figure eight-shaped path. The undulatory structure can be adapted for use as a solid-state transducer wherein the buckled sheet provides mechanical advantage without appreciable opposition from elastic restoring forces, thereby achieving improved force, displacement and efficiency characteristics.
Abstract:
A clamp assembly for maintaining two rod sections parallel to each other includes a collar encircling a longitudinal axis for receiving a first rod section, and a retainer attached to the collar. The retainer has a first hook and a second hook. The second hook for receiving a second rod section is attached to the collar and the first hook is connected to the second hook. The clamp assembly has an open configuration in which the retainer hinges from the collar, and a closed configuration in which the first hook at least partially surrounds the collar. The collar includes a band for encircling the first rod section. The band has a first circumferential end and an opposing second circumferential end that meet to form a closure.
Abstract:
The present disclosure includes a portable physiological monitor including a first local display and configured to communicate with a second physiological monitor including a second display.
Abstract:
An illumination system is housed in a footwear, the footwear including a sole and an upper. An interfacing layer and a liner form inner interior layers connected to the upper. A plurality of illumination sources are electrically connected to a power source and positioned adjacent to the liner. The illumination sources are positioned between the liner and upper. The upper has a light diffusing section. The light emitted from the plurality of illumination sources is diffused as it passes through the light diffusing section of the upper. Aesthetic designs can be creating, either through the arrangement of the plurality of illumination sources or the provision of a light impermeable section on the upper. The light impermeable section, in combination with the light diffusion section, can be used to form or outline an aesthetic design. The result is an internally illuminated footwear with diffused light.
