Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed to configure different paging occasions for enhanced UEs that support, and for legacy UEs that do not support, the enhanced feature of the paging early indication (PEI) in paging procedure for 5G/LTE networks. Different paging occasions for the enhanced and legacy UEs may be configured by providing separate paging occasion parameters for the enhanced and legacy UEs. The network may use the separate paging parameters to design the PEI to save signaling overhead. The network may reuse paging format for the paging PDCCH to serve as the PEI that is transmitted in advance of the paging occasions for the enhanced UEs, or may keep legacy paging PDCCH at its current locations to serve as the PEI for the enhanced UEs. A scheduling offset may be configured to separate in time the paging PDCCH serving as the PEI and the paging PDSCH containing the paging message.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for Fifth Generation New Radio (5G NR) frequency range two (FR2) based communications beam management. The UE may configure, via communications with a base station, serving the UE, a group ID for PUCCH resources within a group of PUCCHs, e.g., for FR2 based communications. The UE may receive, from the base station, an update to one or more PUCCH resources within the group of PUCCHs via a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) that may include one of a resource ID indicating an update to a PUCCH resource or the group ID to update the group of PUCCH resources. The UE may update, based on the MAC-CE, the one or more PUCCH resources within the group of PUCCHs.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) communicates with transmission-reception points (TRPs). When the UE generates uplink control information (UCI), it determines a higher layer index (HLI) value to target the UCI to the appropriate TRP. (Possible values of the HLI are associated with the TRPs.) For UCI on Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH), the HLI value may be determined: based on an HLI value configured for a control resource set (CORESET), or for particular Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) resources; based on UCI type or spatial relation data or an index related to PUCCH resources. For UCI on a configured-grant Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH), the HLI value may be based on higher layer signals or an indicator relating to channel sounding on spatial relation data. Abstract: A method and apparatus configuring default beams are described. In some embodiments, the method of wireless communication at a User Equipment (UE) comprises: receiving, from a base station, configuration information for configuring a default beam for the physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) to use on condition that an offset between reception of downlink control information (DCI) in the scheduling physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and corresponding PDSCH is less than a threshold and at least one Transmission Configuration Indicator (ICI) states includes spatial receiving parameters for configuring a quasi-co-location; configuring, by the UE, a default beam configuration for the PDSCH based on the configuration information and a monitored control resource set (CORESET) with a lowest CORESET identifier (ID) from among a set of CORESETs in a latest slot in a same bandwidth part (BWP), wherein at least one CORSET of the set of CORESETs includes more than one TCI state; and receiving a transmission using the default beam.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for muting resource elements used for wireless communications is disclosed. In one aspect, a method can include actions of obtaining, by user equipment (UE), configuration data that indicates a frequency density of muted resource blocks, identifying, by the UE and based on a value of an antenna ports information element in downlink control information (DCI) that schedules a PUSCH transmission, a group of resource elements within the muted resource blocks, determining, by the UE, a muted resource pattern (MRP) within the RBs for the scheduled PUSCH based on the frequency density of the muted resource blocks and the identified group of resource elements, and transmitting, by the UE, an allocation of RBs for PUSCH without transmission on the identified group of resource elements of the determined MRP.
