摘要: A fluid dispenser comprising a dispensing mechanism, a housing and a container having an interior. The container is removably coupled to the housing for dispensing fluid from the container by the dispensing mechanism. The housing has a guard recess opening downwardly and an access opening into the recess. A piercing member is secured in the recess. The container has a protuberance which is adapted to be received in the recess such that when the container is being coupled to the housing, the protuberance on the container is inserted upwardly into the recess and moved into the piercing member to pierce the protuberance with the piercing member. On the piercing member piercing the container, an air passageway is provided providing communication between the interior of the container and the atmospheric air. Preferably the piercing member is secured in the guarded recess against engagement other than with elements inserted into the recess via the access opening.

摘要: The present invention provides privacy measures in instant messaging systems. A method in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes: setting a time-out value for a message; sending the message to a receiving user; and displaying the message to the receiving user only for a time period equal to the time-out value. In another embodiment, a stealth delivery mode is provided in which an IM message is displayed to the receiving user only if the receiving user has approved the display of the IM message. In a further embodiment, a predetermined number of elements received prior to a current IM message are displayed in the conversation pane of an IM client, based on a threshold value.

摘要: A guidewire loader apparatus is provided for loading a guidewire into a lumen opening of a guidewire lumen of a medical device. The loader apparatus includes a first member defining a respective medical device receiving portion and a respective guidewire receiving portion in communication therewith via a respective interface portion. The loader apparatus further includes a second member configured for placement in an opposed relationship to the first member. The second member defines a respective medical device receiving portion and a respective guidewire receiving portion in communication therewith at a respective interface portion. The first member and the second member cooperatively associate with one another between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the medical device can be positioned into at least one respective medical device receiving portion. In the second position, the respective device receiving portions cooperate to align and support the medical device in a manner placing the lumen opening of the medical device substantially adjacent to the cooperating, respective interface portions. This permits aligned sliding receipt of an end of the guidewire into the cooperating, respective guidewire receiving portions, through the cooperating respective interface portions and into the lumen opening of the medical device.

摘要: An interface is described which has at least one chip side port with a first plurality of pins for conveying fields of a packet and first and second circuit side ports each port having a set of pins with a lower number than the first set of pins in the chip side port. The interface is constructed so that interrupt signals from an off-chip circuit can be conveyed on-chip in a manner such that the interrupt signals are indistinguishable from interrupt signals received from on-chip modules connected to an on-chip communication path. The same principle is applicable to power-down signals.

摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus and method to reduce the memory footprint of a processor architecture by structuring processor code to be stored in an external device, and transferring into the processor certain code and associated data as it is needed. The processor code or algorithm is divided into a controlling piece and a working piece. The controlling piece can be located on a low-MIPS, high memory-footprint device, whereas the working piece can be located on a high-MIPS, low memory-footprint device. The working piece can also be broken down into phases or segments, which are put in a data store. The segments are then transferred, on an as-needed basis along with associated data, from the store into the constrained memory of the low memory-footprint device. Transfer is facilitated by a segment manager which can be processed from the low-MIPS device, or alternatively from the high-MIPS device.
