    Abstract: An adjustable, removable, interlocking iliac crest belt for a body brace is disclosed. The belt can be secured to the inside of a posterior portion of the body brace, and is secured about the patient's waist and upper hip region, engaging the iliac crests of the patient and providing additional pressure and stabilization force. Adjustable hook and loop fastening elements can be used to fasten the iliac crest belt. The belt is intended for use in body braces of the type for immobilizing or stabilizing a patient's spine in a post-surgical therapeutic application, or for treating abnormal spinal curvature, which brace may include body-conforming front and back shell elements molded from plastic, and adjustable strap elements affixed thereto for attaching the shells together around the torso of the patient with a selected compressive force.

    Abstract: An electronic connector having a housing containing a circuit board with a heat-generating component, such as a photodiode or laser, is provided. The housing is molded over the circuit board and heat-generating component. The housing is made from a moldable, thermally conductive polymer composition containing a base polymer and thermally conductive filler material. Liquid crystal polymers can be used as the base polymer, and boron nitride particles and carbon fibers can be used as the thermally conductive filler materials. In one embodiment, the thermally conductive polymer composition includes 30 to 60% of a base polymer, 25% to 50% of a first thermally conductive filler material, and 10 to 25% of a second thermally conductive filler material. The molded housing is capable of dissipating heat from the heat-generating component. A method for making the electronic connector is also provided.

    Abstract: An ESD protection circuit (201) is for use with a high-voltage tolerant I/O circuit in an IC. This is accomplished by providing a small ESD diode (217) from the I/O pad to a relatively small boosted voltage bus (BOOST BUS). The BOOST BUS is used to power a trigger circuit (203). This path has very little current flow during an ESD event due to minimal current dissipation in the trigger circuit. There is a diode drop but only very little IR voltage drop from the I/O pad to the trigger circuit (203). The trigger circuit (203) controls relatively large cascoded clamp NMOSFETs (207, 209). The net result is that a gate-to-source voltage (VGS) of both of the clamp NMOSFETs is increased thus increasing the conductivity of the cascoded clamp NMOSFETs (207, 209). This reduces the on-resistance of each of the NMOSFETS (207, 209), thereby improving the ESD performance, and reducing the layout area required to implement robust ESD protection circuits.
