Abstract:
The invention relates to a product (1), particularly a gas turbine blade that can be exposed to a hot aggressive gas (7). The product (1) has a metallic basic body (2), which is provided with a thermal barrier coating (4) having a spinel of the composition AB2O4.
Abstract:
A device and a process for drying thin layers or films which are manufactured by applying a coating mass, which is produced on an aqueous basis, to a support, the said layer or film being transported through a drying device having at least one drying zone, is characterized in that in at least one drying zone, designated as moisture-compensation zone, air is supplied which has a moisture content corresponding to the constant moisture content of the film to be prepared or the layer to be prepared.
Abstract:
An article that is particularly well suited for use as a gas turbine engine component has a metallic substrate and a ceramic thermal barrier layer including a mixed metal oxide system comprising a compound selected from the group consisting of (i) a lanthanum aluminate and (ii) a calcium zirconate, the calcium in which is partially replaced by at least one calcium-substitute element, such as strontium (Sr) or barium (Ba). In addition, the lanthanum in the lanthanum aluminate can be partially replaced by a lanthanum-substitute element from the lanthanide group, particularly gadolinium (Gd). A process for producing such an article comprises providing a pre-reacted mixed metal oxide system as described above and applying it to the substrate by plasma spraying or an evaporation coating process.
Abstract:
Carbide fiber- and carbide whisker-strengthened silicon nitride bodies are hot-isostatic pressed without encapsulation of the pressureless pre-sintered formed body at temperature between 1000.degree. and 3000.degree. C. in a nitrogen-protective gas atmosphere. At a low nitrogen partial pressure but high total gas pressure, a maximum consolidation can be achieved already at relatively low temperatures without destruction of the carbide fibers or carbide whiskers.
Abstract:
In a broadcast signal receiving system, which includes a phase control loop composed of a first mixer having two inputs and an output and arranged to provide at its output a signal proportional to the product of the signals applied to its two inputs, one output being supplied with the received high frequency signal, a voltage controlled oscillator connected for supplying to the other input of the first mixer an alternating voltage of substantially constant amplitude, a first lowpass filter connected to the output of the first mixer for providing a filtered output signal representative of the first mixer output signal with the sum frequency component of that signal suppressed, and means for delivering the output signal of the first low-pass filter to the control input of the oscillator, the received high frequency signal is directly demodulated by multiplication with a local oscillator signal synchronized to a substantially fixed difference to the phase or the carrier phase of the received high frequency signal.
