    Abstract: A method and apparatus for decoupling of a synchronization (“sync”) channel raster and a channel raster in a wireless communication system is disclosed. For example, the method and apparatus include determining, at a network entity, a synchronization channel raster corresponding to a set of frequencies, and transmitting, from the network entity, one or more synchronization signals and a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) in any frequency of the set of frequencies of the synchronization channel raster to at least one UE. For example, the method and apparatus further include determining, at a network entity, a synchronization channel raster corresponding to a set of frequencies, and transmitting, from the network entity, one or more synchronization signals and a PBCH in a frequency of the set of frequencies of the synchronization channel raster closest to a center frequency of a bandwidth to at least one UE.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some cases, due to blind decoding and channel estimation (CE) limits, one or more user equipment (UE) specific search sets may be pruned for blind decoding and/or CE purposes. For instance, after hashing a set of common decoding candidates to control channel elements (CCEs) within the control region, the UE specific search sets may be pruned so as to conform to the blind decode limitation, since a common search space has already occupied a portion of the total blind decode limit. Following pruning, the UE may hash the sets of UE-specific decoding candidates associated with the one or more UE specific search sets to CCEs within the control region. The UE may further prune UE specific search sets, based on CE limits, while reusing CE for overlapping hashed locations.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to signaling information in physical broadcast channel (PBCH) demodulation reference signals (DMRS). In one example, a network entity may transmit the signaling information carried by a DMRS in one or more resource elements of physical broadcast channel (PBCH) symbols within a bandwidth of a primary synchronization signal and a secondary synchronization signal of a synchronization signal block. In another example, a user equipment (UE) may receive the signaling information carried by the DMRS within one or more resource elements of PBCH symbols within a bandwidth of a primary synchronization signal and a secondary synchronization signal of a synchronization signal block on a broadcast channel from the network entity.

    Abstract: User equipment (UE)-specific information may be transmitted within a control resource set configured to carry resources common to UEs within a system. The UE-specific information may be associated with a search space having an aggregation level different from aggregation levels used with the common control resources and may occupy different modulation symbols within the common control resource set (e.g., to support flexible scheduling for multiple UEs). A base station and UE may operate in a system using one or more control resource sets within a system bandwidth. The UE may detect common control resources by monitoring decoding candidates in the control resource set according to a first set of aggregation levels. The UE may detect UE-specific control resources by monitoring decoding candidates in the control resource set according to other aggregation levels. The UE and base station may communicate based on control information obtained from the monitoring.

    Abstract: Techniques are described herein for signaling procedures that use a hierarchical mobility, which may be applied when a user equipment (UE) is operating in a radio resource control (RRC) inactive state or the RRC idle state. A wireless communication system may be configured with a plurality of areas in which one or more networks are established for communicating certain types of signals. Examples of the areas associated with networks may include a tracking area (TA), a radio access network area code (RAN-AC), a radio access network based notification area (RNA). A synchronization signal or a paging signal may be transmitted using a first set of communication resources in a first area, while the synchronization signal or the paging signal may be transmitted using a second set of communication resources in a second area different than the first set of communication resources.
