    摘要: A flow control valve for multiport injection of pressurized liquid through an array of injection nozzles for a gas turbine engine is connected by nozzle ports to the engine. In accordance with a first embodiment, the valve includes a slidable valve spool which progressively opens and closes a plurality of radially opening first ports. In accordance with a second embodiment the valve employs a rotatable disc which progressively opens and closes a plurality of axially opening first ports. Both embodiments utilize non-circular apertures to effect opening of the first ports. A plurality of second ports communicate with a chamber containing the valve spool or rotatable disc, the second ports communicating with individual compensators that are also in communication with the first ports and nozzle ports. The compensators connect the first ports to the nozzle ports through a variable flow valve which is biased to the fully open opposition against the pressure of liquid in the second ports. By so configuring the flow control valve, pressure in the chamber compensates for pressure surges in the pressurized liquid by reducing flow through the variable flow valve in response to pressure increases in the pressurized fluid.

    摘要: A system for supplying fuel to a plurality of fuel injectors of a gas turbine engine is disclosed having first and second fuel distributors and a fuel transfer device which enables fuel to flow from the fuel source to the first and second fuel distributors as a function of the fuel flow rate. The fuel transfer device enables fuel to flow through the first fuel distributor under low fuel flow conditions. The first fuel distributor sequentially supplies fuel to each of a plurality of groups of fuel injectors when the fuel flow rate is below a predetermined threshold value. When the fuel flow exceeds a high threshold value, the fuel transfer device enables fuel to flow through the second fuel distributor which supplies fuel to all of the fuel injectors of the engine.

    摘要: An adjustable ratio mixing valve is disclosed which incorporates an automatic pressure compensating arrangement whereby the fluid pressure immediately upstream of each of the metering orifices is maintained in substantial equilibrium. This arrangement then enables the respective fluids to be intermixed in any desired volumetric ratio by merely suitably adjusting the open flow area of the metering orifices. In one embodiment the metering orifices are each externally adjustable to enable relatively easy changes in the mixing ratio to be made and may also be interconnected whereby flow volume may be changed while maintaining the desired present mixing ratio. In another embodiment, rapidly acting on/off valving is provided integral with the valve so as to render it uniquely suited for cyclic fluid flow.

Some of the concentrated solids leaving the centrifuge for example can for this purpose be returned to the centrifuge. In the method in accordance with the invention, the solids leaving the centrifuge through its second outlet are diverted through a measuring channel that contains a bob. The shape of the bob ensures that the force exerted on it by the solids will increase with the viscosity of the solids. The force can accordingly be exploited to adjust a flow regulator in such a way that amount of solids returned to the centrifuge is decreased.

    摘要: A flow control system for regulating the flow in two output pipes which divide the flow of a single input pipe as the input flow varies so as to maintain the flow in one of the output pipes at an adjustable predetermined level. The electrical control system employs two electromagnetic valves of a complementary nature, i.e., one opens with an increasing signal while the other closes with an increasing signal. Depending on the magnitude of the demand and the magnitude of the input flow, one valve is held open as the other valve is controlled to satisfy the demand. A relay in the circuit senses the conditions of the valves and chooses which valve is to be controlled and which is to remain stationary.
